The Gran Hotel Velazquez is situated in the aristocratic Barrio de Salamanca district, which is right next to the most important shops, banks and good public transport links.

This superior first-class classically decorated property built in 1946 was completely refurbished in 2002.

  This hotel is located in a quiet residential area and bedrooms are nice and cosy. Serves excellent drinks and the waiters are fantastic.

  The location couldn't be better, staff are not friendly.

  Location of the hotel is perfect and rooms are clean and bright.

  Less than 7 minutes walk to all the shops and most of the personnel didn't speak English.

  In 10 minutes the most famous places of the city, staff pleasant and and in a huge and fully staffed dining room. Nice bar, breakfast excellent.

  Dirty room and bathroom, best breakfast.

  Not a good location for tourists, some of the hotel did not speak much English and were not too helpful, unfortunately the front desk were very unhelpful.

  Bathroom clean and great Breakfast.

  The hotel is an old style one and there was no control over the heating in the room, the staff are cold and unhelpful.

  Best location in Madrid and direct bus to Puerto del Sol. A very nice hotel and traditional Spanish style. Near to the great museums and friendly staff.

  Its not worth for money, into other apartments and high prices in the bar. Small elevators and breakfast was mediocre. The receptionist on arrival was not helpful at all.

  Good location for shopping and great restuarants, tapas bars, and stores all around. Beautiful old days feeling hotel, nice staff and the bed was king sized and comfortable. Only the juice was disappointing.
