Gran Caribe Real Cancun - 坎昆

The Pros of this hotel, location is nice, located right in central Cancun.

The hotel was very clean (there were constantly people cleaning), the service was excellent, the entertainment staff did a great job and the location of the hotel is excellent (the hotel is situated right on the beach and 5 minutes from downtown).

But, I thought I'd be cooperative after I asked the location of the other Resort and the "Nice" Manager assured me it was only 5 minutes up the hotel zone located by the Coco Bongo.

The beach was nice, some manager paid for our way back to the airport in a taxi and the hotel itself was clean.

Your hotel room has a very good chance of terrible air conditioning, periodic hot water, very firm bed, no television cable reception, no fridge, poor lighting, and very odd smells coming from a drain in the bathroom.

There weren't too many rooms with 2 double beds apparently, so we ended up having to share a room with a King Size bed.

We were in 3 different rooms the first 3 nights for various reasons- First room - given one bed and sofa sleeper when 2 double beds were requested.

The master bedroom 2717 had a king size bed, whirlpool hottub (with one window facing the pool and one facing the ocean), large bathroom and balcony facing the ocean - only about 30 feet away!

When we got to our room (first floor tower), I was even more pleased - a marble bathroom with a great shower, ceiling fan, patio with hammock, comfortable king bed (slept better there than I do at home), and efficient cleaning crews.

You don't need to make reservations to eat breakfast or lunch at the Italian restaurant.

The best place to eat (we ate several meals here including breakfast, lunch and dinner twice) was Il Pescatore (for dinner it has to be booked).

Be prepared to sweat bullets while eating meals in the restaurants or havin a drink in the lobby bar.

The hotel has a few restaurants, 2 buffets, 1 upper class a la carte, and a snack bar near the pool, which then serves sushis and asian-style food and night.

The food at the 4 restaurants and 24hr snack bar was above average, w/Glorias defenitely being the best.

Great staff just for their friendly service, ,,Great "strong" drinks,, entertainment, Make sure to make reservations to eat at the restruants in the resort.

Moreover the evening staff at the lobby bar were much more friendly, service was excellent and the employees were very attentive.

The whole Spa area was great including the gym, hot tub & sauna.

It was wonderful, all the rooms have ocean views, the rooms all have their own Jacuzzi and hammock on the balcony, the food was fabulous, the spa was great, the pool is awesome!

Some are by the pool, one on the beach with swings and hammocks, and the unforgettable lobby bar which was a perfect combination of ages and festivities.

The resort also has wireless internet for those of you with laptops.

The wireless internet access was only availabe from the 24 hour lounge and was testy sometimes because they route your server through to there hotel reservation site first.

Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and clean sheets, the hotel was always clean and tidy.

The rooms are very spacious and very clean.

The hotel staff were very friendly, our room was spotless, and very spacious.

Cleanliness - The room was clean upon arrival and Sarahi kept the room immaculate during our stay.

Our room was spotless and our housekeeper kept it that way.
