Good restaurants all nearby, accessible location and we enjoy staying at historic hotels.

Quiet and in a good location for seeing downtown Portland, the workout room is the best that this hotel offers, the lobby is warm and friendly.

The free internet was helpful the location was perfect, the hotel restaurant Jake's was excellent and the desk staff was courteous and quick.

Go outside and 1 block down and get on the Max train or rail bus for free and get just about anywhere you want.

City view in our room could only be seen while laying in bed but there were three nice skylights with shutters you could open or close depending on your natural light preference.

We booked a special package for a king bed room with free valet parking for just $119.

Bathroom was spacious and well lighted, the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Room was standard elegance, dark wood details, not large, not small, very quiet, no view, that's fine, comfortable, clean, sank into the bed, slept awesome.

Nice bed, nice bathroom, big high ceilings.

Loved Jake's restaurant, our waiter was all old world grace and affability, the food was well-prepared and just the right amount of fuss to the presentation for the ambience and the price.

The staff are superb, has a great restaurant right downstairs.

enjoyed having a nice reasonably priced restaurant at the hotel and printer available for use in the lobby - this was helpful for looking up addresses.

The restaurant in the hotel called Jake's is very nice, service is very good.

The attached Jakes restaurant is high prices.

The hotel is nice, very friendly front desk staff and the receptionist put us in a great big room.

For room service are reasonable for a city hotel, the staff at The Governor is GREAT.

Lack of hot tubs or complimentary fitness center, historical hotel and foyer sitting area in the lobby were very impressive.

I used the 24 hour gym in the hotel just off the lobby---very clean and bright, had lots of new-looking cardio machines including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc.

No elevator noise, even adjacent to the (secure--need key card) elevators.

The wireless was easy -- no portal sites to navigate.

Overall the hotel has a very nice appearance, great service and the bathroom was incredibly clean.

My corner suite on the fifth floor was quiet, huge, and generally spotless.

Rooms themselves were always pretty clean (Russian maids who took the trouble to go through the entire floor's bedsheets to find a lost stuffed animal)---and physically, in OK shape for a 4 year old remodel.

The rooms were big, clean and appointed very nicely.
