Overview

The five-star Ankara Gordion Hotel is a small palace in the heart of the city close to such outstanding places as Kugulu Park, Kocatepe Mosque, Ethnographic Museum, Kizilay Square and Segmenler Park. It is surrounded by fashionable and lively streets with a great many of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The building is stylishly designed having a lobby with Turkish and Italian marbles, oak wood paneling and art work as well as rare and precious original engravings on Turkey dating back to 17th and 18th centuries. Also it is decorated with Ottoman Empire textiles of the Turkish brand Vakko, sofas, leather bergeres and Chesterfields, hand-carved gilded mirrors and elegant silverware.

          The location was perfect, the reception staff were very helpful and excellent ambassadors for the hotel, the room was a good size and was very comfortable. The fridge had huge stains, sauna was also great.

          The mattress was not high standard and fried eggs on breakfast was not free.

          The location is just superb, the hotel has an elevator, the room has everything you need, and there is a great breakfast, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sauna/welness facilities are excellent.

          Good hotel, my room had a big Samsung LCD, a DVD player, CDs for me to listen and books to browse.
