What is so wonderful about the hotels location is that the beach is full of families.

The location at the top of the strip is out of the way.

Another downside to the hotel is the location.

Our stay at Fenwick this past weekend (Sat and Sunday) started out on a wrong foot and ended on a very sour note.

Only minus was its a loong way to boardwalk, but buses can take you there and many do use the bus.

We paid an outrageous rate for our room; almost $300 per night, because we requested a king bed during peak season.

And the bed spread was old and yucky with threads pulled on it as if a room full of cats had clawed on it.

After a second trip to the front desk to get the room keys re-programmed so we could get in, the room smelled of mold and as we turned down the bed we noticed a huge stain all over the box spring.

We had reserved a double bed room and upon check in requested an upgrade to a king room.

The bathtub was so stopped up that after 5 min of having the shower turned on, there were 5 inches of water in the tub.

We did eat at the rooftop restaurant for the breakfast buffet.

The hotel has a roof top restaurant and bar.

After showering we went to the rooftop bar/restaurant and enjoyed happy hour and then dinner.

The small restaurant across the street from the Fenwick is very good for breakfast.

The bar and restaurant were nice and offer a nice view.

Might sound petty, but that indicates the low level of "service" & the lack of caring of the staff there.

The first time we used the shower, it didn't drain very well, but the problem was fixed after we complained to the front desk.

Also, the staff was helpful and friendly.

He kept doing it until one of the staff members (whom I called) asked him to stop.

Areas of improvement: - The pool is small and needs ventilation (felt like a sauna at times) One of the nights, there was some drunk guy pounding on all the doors of the floor at 3am.

People and luggage all over the place with wet kids coming in from the pool dripping in the lobby.

Finally, in the absence of a dress code, bathers from the in-door pool paraded through the lobby in all manner of dress and undress.

The rooms were clean, the pool area was warm (indoor) and the restaurant upstairs was decent.

The room was not bad and yes some minor stains on the carpet but in general very clean.

I do have a 5 yr old daughter so I am somewhat picky but found the room to be clean and spacious.

They were more than accommodating, even though we spent twice as much money, we felt like we could relax and vacation in a clean room.

The rooms aren't nothing to brag about however, they are clean and comfortable.
