  I wasn't sure if it was running at 11:00 pm when we arrived, but I called and he was at the airport very quickly.

  Best thing about this hotel was the shuttle service. I had booked my reservation several months ago through their website. Upon check in we were given a Queen handicapped room. Amber quickly refunded the difference and wasn't sure why we were given the wrong room. Since we were there just for the night, I didn't ask to have our room reassigned.

  But it did provide a cheaper location to stay at while in Anchorage. The positives were the nice quiet place away from most tourists and the business room for internet useage.

  We used it as a home base while on vacation and rarely were in the room.

  The hotel looks brand new, the staff was great and the rooms were much larger then what I am used to. The parking was the only issue I had, very few spots, but lots of street parking.

  They had all the expected amenities (fridge, microwave, free breakfast buffet, etc) plus a comfortable recliner in the room which was a nice touch.

  The only real downside is lack of parking. They have a very small lot, so if that's full you have to use paid parking across the street at about $15 a day.

  I ran down to the front desk, reported my findings and was handed a ball of clean sheets that had "just come from the dryer".

  Needless to say, I remade the bed, myself! Upon returning to the room the following evening, there in the corner was still piled the dirty sheets - how disgusting!

  When I called to make reservations this time, I was told that the name had changed to Extended Stay, and that the place had been renovated. I was not told that there is no housekeeping service, except once a week if you are staying that long. They will give you clean towels and sheets if your want, and there's a trash room on each floor to take out your own trash. Our room was fine and had a full sized refrigerator, 2-burner stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker (coffee was provided). Our room faced the back and was quiet; there's a lot of heavy truck traffic through the downtown area. Front desk staff was very friendly, but forgot to order my taxi. Overall, a lot of money for such limited service; OK if you can get a super rate.

  Free laundry room on each floor (you pay for soap). Pool and hot tub were fine and we were always the only ones in the pool.

  Taxi from airport cost $20 we arrived just before midnight and it had. We received a recently renovated room on the 3rd floor overlooking the lobby and car park. The mini suite contained 3 rooms, the 1st containing a small kitchen area with fridge, toaster, hob etc and a lounge with couch and TV. The bedroom was a good size with queen size bed and TV, it was great that you could lock the door to this room too. Finally there was a decent sized bathroom with bath tub and integrated shower. Sound proofing between rooms was also good. Almost on the doorstep was a bar/restaurant called the Mooses Tooth which is an Anchorage institution and is reviewed elsewhere - we can certainly vouch that the pizza is fantastic and the beer brewed on the premises is even better!

  A very nice young man, Alex, who was working at the Front Desk advised me that the van service was not available at that time, but, I could take a cab and the hotel would pay the driver. My room was on the 3rd floor with a small kitchenette (2 burner stove, microwave and full fridge), coffee maker with coffee, and a view of government buildings. The bathroom had a nice shower with curved shower curtain rod and basic soap and shampoo. The lighting was good and the bed was comfortable with the sheets fitting the bed very well (no feet against the bare matress). Wi-fi internet was available for a fee, but, a free computer with internet and printer was available in a small room off of the Lobby (available 24 hours). The breakfast bar, with a nice selection of bagels, cereal, coffee, and tea opened at 6am.

  On the second visit the room wasn't as nice as the 1st. A little fridge and microwave built in with the tv stand.
