The location was perfect, the hotel was peaceful and the staff were all very pleasant.
Don't be put off by it's location opposite the railway station, it is very quiet at night and is very convenient for the town centre - a 10 minute walk.
Its very close to the train station but dont let that put you off.
The room had fabulous beds with crisp linen sheets, large bath robes and a heated toilet!
We stayed in the Madras room (all rooms are given indian names) on the first floor.
Firstly, there is no air conditioning and during a humid stay, the room we had was uncomfortably warm.
Our room 'Cadix' was lovely and spacious, continental breakfast included freshly squeezed juices.
A heated toilet and the Japanese garden was lovely.
Vannes is a beautiful town with an excellent mix of shops and restaurants.
One final thing, the hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the centre and is located near the Rail station and so you have to walk to the centre in order to eat in anything like a decent restaurant.
Continental breakfast included freshly squeezed juices, Yogurts and wonderful pastries.
The breakfast was also of a fabulous quality.
The husband and wife owners have worked on top restaurants in the UK, (he was the sommelier at the Fat Duck at Bray) until recently.
Relaxing - the decor throughout was excellent as was the attention to detail, staff were welcoming and helpful, receptionist were the perfect hosts.
What made the hotel, though, was the staff.
The two owners and receptionist were the perfect hosts, all speaking fluent English.
The staff are curteous and speak excellent English.
Our room, L'orient, led out to the japanese garden with a pool of koi - very soothing.
The garden was minute so you mainly overlooked the car park at the back.
