The location is excellent, the decor is great and the staff didn't really leave any positive impression.
Fine location to downtown and interesting town - has been hiding.
Good location, great Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel and a town full of interesting historical buildings.
The location was excellent, our stay at La Citadelle was very quiet and the lobby was really nice.
Bed linen and towels were nice, clean and fresh, and the room was clean, although the windows could have done with a polish [a bit unfair, as the weather had been windy and wet].
The rooms are the kind of rooms that you are not in a hurry to leave - very comfortable beds and beautifully appointed bathroom.
For the three of us, we booked our room via HRS for 125 euros for the night which included a extra sofa bed.
The toilet was the other side of the bedroom to the bathroom, with no washbasin, meaning a trek each time you wished to wash your hands.
We had to open the 10" wide bedroom window and turn on the air conditioning the entire night on the March 1st to keep the room comfortable.
We did not eat in the hotel, the concierge recommended a local restaurant for dinner, and we decided to wander out for breakfast before continuing our journey.
Metz is a perfect stopover city for us on route into Germany, overall a very pleasant place to stay - didn't sample the restaurant or bar so acnnot comment on and the staff put real effort in serving you best way possible.
There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you do not wish to dine in the highly rated and expensive hotel restaurant.
Staff responsive to needs, comfortable room and excellent food at the Bar.
The china, glasses, cutlery and serving dishes in the restaurant are all very creatively chosen and must have cost a bomb!
The reception area is nice, metz by the way is a very attractive and staff are superb.
Modern classic decor, the staff was wonderful and on checking-out the receptionist on duty was again very polite and charming.
Public areas were extremely hot, the staff were all very nice and the smiling receptionist spoke excellent English.

It is modern, clean, spacious, friendly, welcoming and has free parking - what more do you need to know?
Plus points they offered free parking as part of the booking via HRS.
We walked into the hotel and down the stairs into the impressive lobby.
Interesting building, courteous staff and room was spacious and clean.
The staff was wonderful, the lobby was really nice, and our room was spacious, clean and modern with a charming old world feel.
However, rooms are fine, clean and spacious.
