It's also in a extremely convenient location, next to the underground entrance, and so is a perfect hotel for those who wish to see the sights of this wonderful city without staying in the busy, and often noisy centre.

Although the location was not quite as close to The Ramblas as stated [bit of a walk 20 mins] it was just 5 mins from the Familia and 1 min from the bull ring [we didnt go].

The staff are really friendly, the location is excellent and the rooms are just stunning - the shower was the best one I have ever used!

In the event Monumental metro station is at the southern end of the same block, so if your taxi driver isn’t sure just tell him to drop you there and walk the two hundred yards or so!

However, the Metro station on Barcelona's excellent subway system is just steps from the hotel.

Single beds pushed together to make a double - apparently only 4 rooms in the hotel have double beds, make sure you double check if you are getting a double bed in advance.

Rooms are exactly as pictured in website, very clean, bed is a little bit hard but good size, not many tv channels to watch, they could probably use some pay per view movie channels.

My only niggle was the noise between rooms as the main doors must be very thin and we could hear people outside our room waiing for the lift and our neighbours walking around on the wooden floors.

Everything looked very designer and new, the rooms were not massive but the bathroom was every thing you could wish for all marble and stylish.

The rooms were spacious and we had more than enough room to move around and store our luggage.

We never took breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment but it was 14 euros [a bit steep considering prices in the area] and the bar was pricey, but you expect it in a hotel.

We booked with breakfast which I would recommend as they had a wide choice of buffet style food, from rolls,cold meats, to bacon, egg and sausage!

Eat outside, It is not worth the money and the only reason we had breakfast each morning was that we were convinced we had already paid for it.

We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that although maybe a little expensive at 12 euros!

Finally I would thank and agree with your other correspondents in relation to the breakfasts.

All staff were friendly and always said hello and the manager we spoke to most, dont know his name but we think he was German, was extremely helpful and couldnt do enough to help [sorry about the safe].

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and always willing to help, they had a lot of knowledge about the local area and even recommended the best eats outside La Rambla.

We never did ask the staff about the smell, I guess we found it a little bit funny.

Some sites claim this hotel has a pool and jacuzzi and was a factor in our decision to book there.

However, if you stay longer, get away from the elevators.

While checking in, a member of our party had two carryons stolen by thieves in the lobby at around 9am in the morning.

It got all the (mainly communication) facilities I need - free wireless internet with smooth connection, a safe that accommodates the laptop, and a flat TV.

Veri nice hotel, friendly staff and clean and very good free WLAN connection in the room.

This was a lovely hotel - room was lovely and clean and had good soundproofing considering its on the corner of some busy roads!

The room is comfy in earth tone and clean modern layout.
