Scandic gives you what you expect from a cityhotel of its size and price.
Summary: personally hotel was real dissapointment, negative attitude, service, spartan room, the whole ''package'' for money I paid (over 135 Euros), was simply not acceptable.
Great location, very near Avenue with al the pubs etc!
The location is very good, in the middle of everything.
The location are great - but if you can, try to stay somewhere else.
More importantly, the hotel is across the road from the train station and the shuttle to the airport.
The pool was small and chilly when I dipped my foot in.
We have two kids and we stayed ina fmaily room, which was great, the kids had their own bed, very roomy rooms.
We booked a superior room with doublebed and bath tub as written on their website, got a old double room with a open door to a singel room, without a bathtub.
I had to go in a discussion and after some talking I got a new room which was bigger, but no double bed.
I wonder who got the stupid idea to make a small window between the bathroom and the rest of the room?
Our room was quite large and the beds were very comfortable.
Restaurant overcrowded at breakfast - had to sit in the bar.
Some positive things: the breakfast is great and the bar food as well!
The same in the breakfast room and in the bar for the evening.
It was enormous, way more choices that you can ever eat at one breakfast.
If I could recommend one restaurant to go eat at it would be Smaka.
Staff in reception on arrival were very welcoming and friendly, i was surprised at the simplicity of the room.
The service was poor, I asked for some teabags day one and when I had not received them the afternoon day 2, I asked the staff in the lobby - they were not very interested.
Great staff, free wi-fi and very good food.
Staff friendly, smart and helpful (although the guy on the night desk didn't know how much postage was needed for a postcard to the UK!
The sauna bar is lovely and the small pool and sauna is spotless and really a great way to relax after walking around Gothenburg.
We didn't get to try the sauna as it was closed on Sunday, but they do have a bar up there with the pool and sauna for drinks and snacks.
Enjoyed the small pool and sauna - very relaxing.
Friendly staff, clean basic room and the breakfast was great.
Rooms clean and comfortable, staff in the bar were also very friendly and efficient.
This hotel was very clean, had a very healthy and extensive breakfast selection (included with room).
I agree the rooms were a bit uninspired, but it was clean, service was good, the rooms were fairly good sized and there were no blatant problems.
We hung the "please clean my room" sign on the door and came back 6 hours later to have a shower and change for dinner.
