    The walls needed a good washing throughout; the cabinets in the kitchen had food gunked on the door handles; and the clean bathroom towels under the sink were lying on dead spiders, cobwebs and unrecognizable bits of something brown and sticky.

    The room was not just old and run down -- but filthy.

    If this is the best Extended Stay America can do, they just as well close up shop.

    I did not expect no housekeeping services prior to my stay.

    My reservation had been in place for days.

    I expected basic needs; clean room; plain decor; minimal housekeeping during my stay.
