Empress Dalat Hotel - Dalat

Great location and lovely views from the central communal courtyard, but apart from that, the hotel was more like an average motel - nothing in particular wrong, but nothing to rave about either.

It is a good hotel with a couple of problems but a lovely location by the lake within easy walking distance of the centre.

The location is good opposite the lake and only a short walk into the main restaurant area.

The location is good and market place near.

We had a ground floor standard room (I think) which was quite large and featured a king size bed, small couch, ample space for luggage, satellite tv, and good size bathroom with a big shower (no bath).

The room has a big bed, sofa, 2 armchairs,small and big table,wardrobe.

There is a court yard facing the lake with rooms on two sides and the hotel reception/ dining room on the other.

Most rooms have lake views - some better than others - our room was on the ground floor - you would almost certainly get a better view from the first floor.

Rooms are well proportioned if a bit dark; but who wants to sit in the room here?

The breakfast was limited and the restaurant did not have many customers in the evening, however, I must point out that November is low season in Dalat and a small jacket or similar is needed in the evening.

Restaurants are within easy walking distance and the courtyard feel to the place (taking breakfast there if you want) is excellent.

Clean + just enough to eat for breakfast.

The hotel is in a good location, you can walk to the central market and there are restaurants and shops close by.

Hotel breakfast was better earlier on, the first day we went down late and there wasn't much choice.

The staff were friendly and those at reception were willing to help with your queries There is a lovely old Merc, belonging to the owner which you can hire by the hour should you wish.

The gardens were well kept and lovely and the staff efficient and friendly.

However, the staff was very good, waiting after hours until we returned to give us a verbal message from our Aunt.

Despite the good staff, I would not stay at this hotel again due to the dirty sheets.

There was a very friendly porter at the street level garage who directed us up the stone steps to the front lobby.

The internet in the lobby is charged & useless.

Having said that I would stay here again it is very charming,clean & cosy & the room rate is good.
