Emirates Palace Hotel Abu Dhabi - 阿布扎比

Beach are fantastic, the location is very quiet and almost all aspects of the hotel are perfect.

The location is very quiet (no construction noice as in the hotels on Jumeirah beach in Dubai).

The other thing to watch out for is that there are two types of taxi available in Abu Dhabi; local taxis and private hire cars that are generally available outside hotels.

The staff at the Hotel entrance were surprisingly unproactive when it came to getting taxi's etc for guests with the average wait being about 1/2hr for a cab.

This covers breakfast and lunch or dinner in the Vendrome, but also entitles guests to a very generous allowance against meals in other restaurants.

The room was gorgeous, room service and the restaurants were exceptional (and my lunch in the Italian restaurant rivalled one of the best dining experiences I've ever had at about £22 a head).

Restaurants suffer from some lack of ambience, esp for families, and are pricey (every hotel usually has a “basic” dinner venue ie the one where you eat breakfast in!

If you ventured to breakfast at around 10am there did appear to be a queue but this was soon rectified when the hotel opened a second restaurant for breakfast which could be eaten on the terrace overlooking to sea.

On the previous night we went out into the town of Abu Dhabi to enjoy an excellent Indian meal at the Indian Palace restaurant for £15 per head as the Emirates Palace did not have any Indian cuisine to offer.

Outside of the room, everything else at the hotel was perfect, the restaurants were great, the pool/beach areas absolutely stunning and service very good (except for rude/poorly trained reception staff).

Poolside Service at the beach club excellent, everywhere in this place is a good walk its so vast and the staff are very pleasant.

Tip number 5 - you can hitch a lift on a golf cart shuttle running the length of the hotel adjacent to the beach and in such heat, you'll be glad you did.

I would go on and on and on about the Pool(s); the Spa(s) - expensive tho; the jaw-dropping surroundings; but what I will remember for a very long time is the friendliness of the all the staff we met.

Within the hotel there is a state of the art fitness centre and we were told that although they have taken nearly 2 years to finish the Spa's should be open by the end of this month (hooray).

The building is certainly magnificent, the staff is extremely freindly and rooms are nice and clean.

The next day we complained again and saw a further 4 rooms, 3 of which had a strong smell, confirmed by the manager and one was completely clear.

The bedroom was spotless and the Italian restaurant was very good.

The service was impecable - we were greeted by a gaggle of women, who presented us each with a boquet of fresh roses, and then escorted us each to our rooms.
