I've stayed at the Marriott across the street from this location before and was very unhappy with it.
The police station is right below the hotel which didn’t help the noise.
The suite we ended up with was a two bedroom with one king bed and two queen beds for 129/night, each room had a private bath.
The two bedroom suite is perfect for a family, with a king bed in one room, two queens in the other and a large pull-out sofa in the living area.
The lack of a secure bolt on the entry door was a drawback, of course, but the biggest assault on the suite is the placement of the bathroom: if your spouse is asleep while you're awake, you have to walk through the bedroom to use the bath.
Large kitchen area you need and a comfortable sofa bed in the common room sufficed for parent #3.
The room was clean and updated and the bed was very comfortable.
Embassy has just finshed (last Sept) a full renovation and is brand new, bedding wonderful, great full breakfast and evening reception and open bar-staff is great.
And then you enter the lobby (not an atrium) where tables and chairs are clustered closely together, there's a bar nearby, but if there's a restaurant, we didn't see it.
Room was quiet and the food at breakfast was very tasty.
The restaurant is not fancy, but offers very good food at a reasonable price until later in the evening.
The breakfast was fine and the evening reception was okay - only 1 item to eat, but my husband raved about them - bacon wrapped scallops.
The front desk and staff throughout the hotel are the friendliest I have ever encountered in Winston-Salem.
The front desk staff was very helpful and pointed us to a great pizza place across the street - the Mellow Mushroom (a little loud, but fabulous food).

Every employee was more than helpful, the pool was nice.
The hotel is beautiful - great parking attendents.
The indoor pool area is clean and nice, but smells so strong of chlorine, we couldn't stay for long.
Also room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was fine.
The suite was beyond spacious as well as clean and well appointed.
Rooms were big and clean, which is my big thing.
