The location was convenient in that is right next to the visitor center and the overall appearance of the hotel is very nice.

The location was convenient in that it is right next to the visitor center, but note that it is several blocks to the main sections of the historic district (market st, etc.

The location is perfect, overall facility is too nice to offer such low quality rooms and the staff here is equally friendly.

Doing so probably saved about a 10 block walk in either direction (which we really appreciated when going back, after being on foot all day).

The food was below-average(but unfortunately was my only real option when arriving from the airport at 9:30pm).

Initially I had reserved a room with a king size bed and after changes in our plans, I called and it was no problem to change it to two double beds instead.

Although it was more pricey than we would like - $170/night (after AAA discount), king sized bed & $12/day self-parking - it's worth it when you're traveling with kids who can sleep in a completely different room (on the sofa bed) with their own TV.

Three days in June 2008 cost $965 for a two room suite with no windows, no vent in the bathroom, and parking at $12/day ($18/day for vallet parking).

And, of course, Embassy Suites is great - spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, a living area & kitchenette, free breakfast.

The beds are full size, but a comfortable small bed.

The breakfast sucked, the line was so long because if you didn't just eat from the bar and did decided to have a "cooked-to-order" ommlett you waited and you waited and your family left without you!

The bar area is comfortable, one great place to eat lunch or dinner is wonderful and the rooms are nice.

Good full breakfast - didn't want lunch after all the food for breakfast.

The hotel is located next to a large green park and is within walking distance of King Street restaurants and shops.

Charleston has no shortage of great restaurants, but sometimes we were short on time so it would have been nice to not have to leave the hotel to eat.

The hotel was very accomodating in moving me to a new room, the managers reception was nice and the staff at the Embassy Suites were extremely polite.

The staff are very helpful and managers reception for a clean bug free room.

I'm a little surprised at some of the negative reviews here: I will note that the front desk did appear to be understaffed on several occasions, but we found the complimentary breakfast and manager's reception to be just fine.

Full-service hotel in a great location, the staff was very helpful and courteous, the rooms were pretty small as well.

The phones in the room did not work when pushing the buttons for room service, housekeeping, or valet parking.

Free parking for HHonors Diamonds which was good.

If I have one criticism, it is of the hotel's website which implies that there is chargeable on-site self parking.

The rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast as always is quite good.

The rooms are nice and clean and of the 10 plus hotels that we stayed at during our trip, this was the best.

This was one of the best, from staff to the food to the clean and comfortable rooms.

Our room was clean and cool, and everything worked properly.

I reminded them that they enter a room to clean.
