Edinburgh Caledonian Hilton - 爱丁堡

The hotel is situated in an enviable location, being right next to Princes Street and only half a mile from the Royal Mile.

The hotel's location is fantastic - just at the beginning of Princess street (even though, one may find more centrally located hotels on the Royal Mile).

Its in a great location, close to both the new town and the old town.

This hotel is well positioned close to airport bus stops at one end of Princess St.

But when we needed a bus or a taxi, it was really easy to do on Princes.

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large with separate bath and shower.

We had 2 adjoining rooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds.

The room had two double beds and a single bed, fantastic views over the castle and princess street gardens.

We stayed on the 5th floor, a bit of a walk but we were upgraded to a large bedroom with two double beds - one bed for our daughter of 4 years.

The lighting in the room was terrible and the only way you could watch the TV was if you were lying on the bed.

The breakfast was fabulous - we didn't eat any other meals in as I know lots of excellent restaurants in the city.

Food - Breakfast was good, with a typical Hilton choice but with the facility to make pancakes/omlettes to order which we used as we were having leisurely breakfasts both mornings.

Food - breakfast good selection ; dinner at the minor of the 2 restaurants was tasty bistro level.

The food in the restaurant was good as was breakfast, plenty of buffet choice with other options, waffles, omelettes cooked to order.

The breakfasts were fine (especially the porridge) and whilst we didn't eat in the restaurant, we ordered room service once and it was fine.

Front desk, concierge and bell service exceptional and very helpful.

The service we received from all the staff was fantastic, especially Alastair the Concierge who chased up our baggage all the time.

After numerous complaints to the front desk, concierge and the engineering department I wrote a letter to the General manager.

The hotel team weas excellent from the concierge though to room service.

In terms of facilities, the Caledonian has a pretty good (by hotel standards) fitness centre which includes a reasonable gym with a good selection of workout equipment and a rather nice pool.

There is a free leisure club with gym and pool.

The spa and pool were quiet and relaxing and the treatments available there were top quality.

The room was very clean and fresh fruit had been left on the table for us to enjoy.

We stayed in a deluxe room at the back of the hotel and the view was quite poor, but the room itself was very well funished and clean.

Additionally the bathroom was spotless, breakfast was very good.

Staff nice very professional and lovely clean room.

The staff were excellent, bathroom was very clean and modern.
