The whole experience was very strange and just not what you expect from a hotel at which you are spending a good deal of money for a special event.
Their location is the best available in the area and hotel shower nozzles are so high up you can't adjust them.
The location on Main St, is convinent, but noisy.
I had low expectations knowing a little about the location and that it is a college town.
I recommend this hotel for people who need to be in keene for a night or 2 it is an unbeatable location and has all of the amentities one could need for a quick stay.
I don't know about the regular rooms but the suites are super spacious and have a bedroom with a firm, comfortable bed, a seperate living area and whirlpool tub.
The room was not even close to comfortable, the jacuzzi tub was haphazardly placed next to the bed.
We were given the wrong room after booking months in advance and ended up with a king bed with a sleeper sofa (small, lumpy and dirty) when we were traveling with small children which provided inadequate and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements.
The room and the bathroom was huge and warmly decorated.
He also offered to reduce my rate because of all the problems, and was willing to give me an upgrade to a suite room on the side of the hotel.
I try not to eat in the same place twice when I visit but I ate at the hotel restaurant once and it was good.
Its right on the main street of downtown Keene and is flanked by locally owned shops, restaurants and bars.
The hotel restaurant faced Keene Center and had the best gourmet food around.
I said for $300/night we should get a hot breakfast!
One employee, David, is waiter, desk attendee, and bar tender all in one.
The desk staff is friendly and internet service is free.
Main issue was that reception staff in particular were soooooo unwelcoming and soooooo unfriendly.
She replied, "oh no, the waffles are just for the wait staff.
It was my first time at this hotel and I received warm service and an opportunity to sign up for a frequent visitor card.
The surroundings lovely, the Hotel is great and the staff is extreamly pleasant and helpful.
Though the hotel is recently renovated, it still looks like an older building with the lobby and eating areas very cramped (not cozy) and often no one around to help.
Parking is impossible if you have an SUV-it doesn't fit in the garage and there is no night street parking and only one space by a dumpster to park then if you get there first.
For my $139 i expected a nice, clean room.
On a positive note, the room was large and relatively clean.
The set-up of the room is nice and the rest of the room was clean.
But we booked a 2 floor suite and it was clean and friendly.
We booked two nights and were very disappointed - room was far from clean!
