Due Torri Hotel Verona - 维罗纳

The best part of the hotel is the location.

The location was good, but had no parking facility.

Overrated, overpriced and living off its location.

The driver later confirmed that taxis are very rarely called at Due Torri Hotel to go to the airport, as the hotel (or its staff) prefers to use limos.

I wanted to leave for the airport right then so I asked the guy at the reception to cancel the car and decided to take a taxi which was my regular guy for the fair and I had already called him to the hotel at the appointed hour.

Bowl of fruit in the room - the weather forecast left on the bed each night for the next day - a lit candle in the bathroom in the evening when the beds were turned down.

I had one of the better rooms classed as a junior suite overlooking the square, but although a reasonable size there wasn't a comfortable chair, no bathrobe, and the bathroom was too small to stand comfortably to dry after a bath.

We pulled back the sheets to find that the mattresses had bath towels and a double sheet covering the wet patch before the bed had been made up for our arrival.

The room was decently sized with a huge bed and separate seating area.

Strangely they chose to have the bath and the toilet in the same part which made dividing the bathroom rather pointless.

We didn't try the restaurant but the prices from the menu weren't much different to the more expensive restaurants around town.

1) The valet accompanying me to the room recommended that I should dine at the hotel's restaurant, because "all other restaurants in town would be booked".

You could pay for various omelette dishes, fruit salads or cheese that admittedly might have been free if twe'd taken bereakfast in the restaurant.

Very good breakfast with a great selection of high- quality, italian products.

Admittedly, the following morning, room service arrived with breakfast on a table (with wheels) which was placed on the balcony along with 2 uncomfortable dining table chairs so, I suppose, some effort had been made.

The food was great in the hotel, the reception staff were excellent especially we arrived.

The tone and the demeanor of this hotel staff from the reception desk was not only rude but also demeaning.

When I was already in the cab the hotel's receptionist came out of nowhere (from outside the hotel) and after asking the driver if I came from the hotel, pretended that I went back to the reception to take the imprint of my credit card.

No apology received, I was then taken to the reception back office and had to review my emails with all of the hotel staff walking up and down behind me!

Parking cost 35 euros which is expensive.

The Due Torri falls well below 5 star standard; the corridors, stairwell and lift area were intensely shabby and gave an unclean impression.

The lift call button was cracked and the lift itself tiny and frankly horrid.

We arrived to great service to the room - nice clear guides in the beautiful room.
