  Positives: I found the staff at the front desk to be friendly and helpful. The room itself (one-bedroom suite) was reasonably priced, spacious, and quiet. The included buffet breakfast was good, and the serving staff were friendly and helpful. The self-service laundry facilities were clean. The friendly and competent staff and the good breakfast help to make up somewhat for its' shortcomings, but not completely.

  In fact, after checking in, I checked on the door to make sure it really was a non-smoking room, because it surely didn't smell like one. It was non-smoking, according to the sign on the door). The carpet in the room also needed cleaning, in my opinion. Basically, I think the room needed repainting and carpet replacement, and it would become a much nicer place.

  While we waited we were able to snooze comfortably in the comfy armchairs of the lobby. The staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful.

  We arrived very early after a looong trip on Amtrak, several hours before check in time and hoped to leave our bags in reception until check in time. They could see how tired we were, and invited us to have breakfast in the breakfast room, and prepared a room for us as quickly as possible. Being on vacation it was a shame that the internet computer has blocked most of the social networking sites, but I guess the hotel caters more for the business clients.

  The breakfast room was off the lobby and was comfortable and attractive, with a television in the corner and a large plasma screen in the lobby area. The internet is supposedly only wireless in the lobby, but I was able to use it in my room on the 4th floor close to the lobby. There were a lot of tv channels and the tv worked, which is another perk considering some hotels I've stayed in.

  I never got to enjoy the free evening beverage service, unfortunately, due to plans. I would have thought the room was clean, there was no bad smell, but I had some breathing problems throughout the stay that lead me to believe this non-smoking room had either been extensively smoked in, or absorbed smoke, or had a long history of pet stays.

  Stayed here for my second trip to Houston (business) in a month - I had stayed at another hotel last time, and the Drury is much better value all around. Good sized room (king sized bed with large desk area). Great location for visiting downtown clients. Free wired Internet in the room and wireless in the lobby.

  Though location was very close to the freeway (I-10), hardly any traffic noise in the room. Great location, wonderful stay, fantastic staff.

  Is the best word to describe this hotel, the staff, and our stay at the Drury Inn-West Houston. The manager I spoke with (Abraham) was VERY kind and sympathetic to our situation and was kind enough to give us a very nice rate which was a blessing considering the ridiculous amount of cash we had to fork over for airfare (apparently bereavement fares are a myth and don't exist! We requested a crib in the room and for you parents out there who have traveled with small children, you know what a relief it is to not only ACTUALLY have the crib ready and waiting for you in the room but the crib not to be a death trap! Husband and baby enjoyed the indoor pool which was quite large for a property of this size. Wireless internet in the room was good and free. No restaurant in the hotel, but there's a so-so steakhouse next door (OK if you want to grab a burger) and some menus are in the room of a few places that will deliver to your room. Only tsmall complaint I could make is that there's not much in the way of storage in the room we had (a king room). I have to thank Haji, Abraham, Sunshine, and Reana- the Breakfastroom Lady who was so friendly and fell in love with our little baby girl.

  I can't say enough about the service, the staff, the rooms, the food, the free drinks! Most of the guys on our road crew smoke and Drury still offers smoking rooms on their top floor. We all love the food, the staff are wonderful, even if some don't speak English they still try to understand what we want or find someone to help. The guys love the free food, and drinks at night and breakfast in the morning is wonderful.

  Baked potato's with all the trimmings, hot dogs with chili, salad bar, chips and the never ending supply of popcorn.

  The inn looked interesting and never heard anything negative about the chain so we booked a room and had no regrets.
