I won’t drag this on and on, but to sum I will say that we had a great mini-vacation, loved the beach, the amenities, and the hotel itself, and found everything to be a very good value for our money.
The price/value for this hotel is pretty descent.
It only cost us $1400 each and we thought that was a great value for air, hotel, food and drinks.
Yes, the hotel is not perfect but we weren't exactly paying 5 star prices!
The resort is situated at a great location, is clean, has friendly service, and the food is wonderful.
It's location is perfectedly situated on the beach but minutes from the downtown area.
We chose Dreams for 2 reasons it's location close to town and all the great things we read online about it.
2)Taxis into town cost between US$4-5 and a taxi back to the airport will run you $10 (cheaper than coming from the airport b/c you don't deal with the people who pay a fee to run taxis out of the airport).
Our taxi was white(avoid the white taxis directly outside the airport), it was 100 degrees outside and there was no air conditioning in the taxi, there was no rearview mirror, the windshield was cracked and half the dash was missing.
The suite may be connected with a two-bed luxury room to make a two-bedroom suite.
21 year old daghter and her best freind , paid for 2 rooms , the hotel didnt have 2 rooms so they ofered us the 2 floor suite , the suite was nice but only had 1 bed and 1 bath.
First off, instead of the Junior suite with a king bed for my son and fiance, they told them they only had a room with two beds.
The room (a king-bedded junior suite in the "old" building) was spacious enough to accommodate that extra bed without making thing seem too cramped.
We had a comfortable king bed (yes, a bit firm but tolerable) and a very large room with sofa, table and nice size marble bathroom with good hot water and good water pressure.
Four of five of the restaurants were excellent, the main restaurant with a buffet for breakfast and lunch was ok, not great.
Even the food at the buffet restaurant ( Wold Cafe) was great that we ate most breakfasts and lunches there.
I think our fav restaurant was Portofino - husband is Italian and refuses to eat at Italian restaurants but we both loved the food, quality and service.
At Dreams, there are five restaurants and for every meal of the day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are at least two different options to choose from.
Water were beautiful, outdoor pool bar you were drinking a fruity mix drink and the food in all the restaurants was excellent.
I can not say enough how pleasant and friendly the staff were, from the maid service, to the waiters, bell boys, concierge, bar tenders.
It was difficult to find a manager, concierge, or front desk staff that actually cared.
The service and friendliness of each and every one of the staff, from the front desk, to the maids, the beach boys, restaurant workers etc.
A bottle of champange next to the spa pool, etc.
The adult pool was a God-send (jacuzzi, disappearing edge, Crispin's bar next door) -- peaceful with a wonderful view.
The staff at the pool would not let us lift a finger.
PC as they don't really care if you just plug in.
Those that do matter most to us are clean rooms and all facilities, good fresh food, and friendly staff.
Our room was extremely spacious and clean, we never saw a single insect which is hard to imagine in such a climate.
Room was clean, airconditioner works great.
The view was fantastic and everything was clean; I know there have been negative posts about the rooms in the older tower, but I did not experience any problems.
Rooms are very clean, with great housekeeping service.
