15 minutes walk, lots more within a short taxi ride.
However when our bus pulled up in front of the entrance our fears completely vanished.
Very spacious and well decorated, definately warranting the five stars for accomodation, our first room consisted of a large walk in closet, well laid out bathroom with large walk in shower, twin sinks, bath, toilet and bidet.
The hotel went above and beyond the needs of its guests, we were on a bed and breakfast basis, but they upgraded us to all inclusive and changed our already fantastic room to a Junior Suite which was outstanding!
The suite was tastefully decorated and had separate living room, walk in closet, whirlpool bath, body jet shower, air conditioning and ceiling fan.
We did have a look at a standard room at the hotel and these were decorated in the same style as the suites and had all the same amenities except the whirlpool bath and separate living room.
Two large separate bedrooms both with TV"s and a large bathroom with separate WC ,shower,whirlpool bath and two sinks.
There were three restaurants on site one being El Olivio which is an italian restaurant which was closed, the main buffet restaurant, and the A la Carte which faces onto the beach.
The new marina is a fifteen twenty minutes walk from the hotel, which hosts a market on a Saturday morning, has a few designer shops, couple of restaurants and a supermarket.
The food at the hotel was excellent with breakfast being of buffet style with cooked or continental options and lots of yoghurts, cereals and fruits and cava to choose from.
Evening meals varied from evening to evening with display cooking every evening of meats and fish and a different type of international cuisine speciality from traditional Spanish to Chinese.
The a la carte restaurant was shut which for us was no big deal as I doubt whether I would take such young kids into such a dining experience but for couples on their own this might have been an issue.
We were then taken to our room via a short tour of the hotel complex by a member of the reception staff, our bags were taken to our room, and boy what a room.
Rom service did not happen on 3 occasions and when we rang reception no word of sorry.
The reception staff were quite indifferent when we were checking in.
It is let down by some of its staff who have obviously had no customer service training.
There is also a wellness Spa at the hotel which has a wonderful pool with hydrotherapy massages and sensory showers.
The spa and gym facilities were open from 10-10 and had a variety of treatments on offer, prices were not that expensive and ranged from 30 euros to 75 euros depending on the what treatments you wanted.
We also had a huge terrace with a fantastic view of the pool/sea.
