The rooms are a bit small, but are nicely furnished and even have nice red, fluffy towels.
The main hotel is fine, but prepare yourself for noise and heating problems if you stay in the annex--especially if you room faces the street.
The rooms are very clean, we chose one with air conditioning which was worth it, who knew it could get to hot in Dawson city Yukon.
The rooms were nice, they've got wireless internet.
Like most older hotels, especially in the North, you don't always get a consistent temperature in the shower and you should be prepared to carry your bags up a flight of stairs to your room as there are no elevators.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food at all three meals was excellent.
The atmosphere in the bar was amazing and the food in the dining room was above par.
The restaurant in the hotel, the Jack London Dining Room was very good.
The Downtown Hotel was a great place to stay, the food at all three meals was excellent.
There is a lounge in the hotel called the Sourdough Saloon which boasts a drink called the "Sour Toe Cocktail".
The staff were very friendly and became part of our vacation.
We were also surprised to find out that you have to leave a deposit or your credit card number with the front desk if you want to use the phone, even for local calls and calling card calls.
We had a great time and enjoyed the great service.
The manager took us on a tour of the town and drove us out to the dredge, what hospitality!
We just used our calling card on the payphone in the lobby instead.
The rooms were comfortable and perfectly clean.
