While I have stayed in worse places, I have stayed in better hotels for the money.
I'm sure it is good for some people (like those who do not spend much time in a hotel room or care about smoke and noise) but in my opinion, it is an overpriced and not very nice property.
There are nicer hotels in Banff for the same or less money.
I'm not sure it is worth paying the extra for a hotel in the centre which tended to be quite crowded a noisy.
This resort is situated in a most beautiful location, great place to bring a family and the rooms/suites are large.
Fantastic location and the warmth in the hotel is good for cold weather.
While we would stay at this location again, we would choose a different room if the weather was warm.
Local shop good but expensive - we used Safeway down town for main items - and used local bus and taxi - latter 6$ to get to town Staff friendly and helpful.
As it was too cold to wait for the bus in the evenings, we cabbed it downtown for $6/7 but had to get 2 taxis each time.
Also, the downstairs bedroom has a jacuzzi tub but no toilet; you have to go through the living room to the bathroom.
The suite had two upstairs bedrooms, a downstairs large bedroom and a sofa bed.
We stayed in the 1 bedroom lodge, a queen size bed in the room and the upstairs loft had 2 queen size beds.
Having a tv in the bedroom of the unit would have been great as our toddlers were sleeping in the living room, so when they went to bed we weren't able to watch tv.
We had a one bedroom condo with a murphy bed in the living room for the kids.
We ate mostly in Banff (10 mins by bus away)but we fine dined at the restaurant at the resort one night.
Besides that, the place was decent, nothing fancy, the kitchen was great to save costs on breakfast and lunch.
Nice touch, especially after trying to find a parking space for the Canada Day parade (nearly impossible) and then a restaurant.
We still made our breakfasts every morning, so we made due.
Our package included 7 nites accommodation with a breakfast basket (consisted cereal,eggs,bacon bread and milk), ski hire and ski lift tickets for 6 days.
We did not have a car (our choice)but there was a great bus service in Banff that stopped right outside reception.
Nice view clean, we liked the free shuttle bus service as parking downtown Banff was difficult and the grocery store staff were friendly.
Staff were pretty nice and helpful with the exception of one encounter with a gal at the front desk who was pretty surley.
A fitness area, with lots of gym equipment, adjoins the pool area.
Car parking was not a problem as the spaces were numbered with the room numbers.
The water slide, kiddie pool and Jacuzzi offer good fun for a variety of ages.
My stay was comfortable, but having no wireless internet (despite what is advertised) was not great.
The rooms were clean and tidy and functional, maybe an update is now required but it didn't affect our stay.
The bathroom was quite new and the place was clean.
The room was clean, self sufficient, and fit our needs.
As mentioned by a number of other reviewers this is not the place for a luxury holiday but for a convenient, practical, clean and spacious room you will have difficulty beating this place.
It appeared the bathroom had been renovated and was very clean!
