Doubletree Hotel Portland

The location of the hotel was perfect- the trimet station and fareless zone was located outside the front door, and the big mall with movie theaters and ice rink was across the street.

This hotel is also located in an EXCELLENT location for shopping and eating, only 2 footsteps away from everything and there's also free public transportation on the MAX/Lightrail train system--within the downtown area and Lloyd district.

Real good location, next to the mall, and right across from the light rail to downtown, free too.

The lgiht rail goes to the airport stops at the Llod center so you don't need to take a taxi or rent a car to connect to the airport.

We took the light rail to downtown, the Pearl district, Washington park where the Rose garden, Japaness garden and the zoo are, we also took it to the airport.

I stayed in a one bed (queen bed) room that only had a stand-up shower (no tub).

My room was spacious and included a sitting area, desk, and very small balcony in addition to a king size bed and average sized bathroom.

We booked a non-smoking room with 2 double beds; when we arrived we found out that everything was booked and we could only get a smoking room with a single queen bed.

Upon arrival we were given a room with two double beds and were told that they could not guarantee a king bed.

Large room, with a comfortable bed, good water pressure and temperature in the shower.

I had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was absolutely fabulous.

Hotel restaurants: Breakfast at the Multnomah Grill is good and so is the service.

Hood and other Cascade mountains, the restaurant had a good and varied breakfast buffet, and we were not charged for parking.

The breakfast was great but the dinner in the main restaurant was a little too expensive for a business traveler.

The bar and restaurant in the lobby are convenient, but don't stay open late.

Front desk staff is friendly and helpful; love the warm cookies upon check-in.

The front desk staff was very accomodating and when we called for extra towels, we had them in less than 10 minutes.

Negatives: The $9 parking fee at the Doubletree, the outdoor pool (closed in the winter), and not getting two beds in the first place.

Don't let the lobby and the fancy elevators fool you.

I was suprised to discover the complete lack to signs in the elevator lobby on the floor where my room was located.

Wireless was not available while I was there and the wired network was down on my floor and the only IT support person who knew how to fix it was on vacation.

For the four star price, I would like to see a fridge, microwave, and free wi-fi internet.

The room was very clean, and i was lucky to have a great view.

The bathrooms were very clean but only had a shower stall in them.

The room was located on the fifth floor, was very clean, and a good size.

It's consistently clean (we always stay in the main tower), with very big rooms, nice and helpful staff.

The room itself was smaller than the industry standard for new hotels these days, but it was clean and comfortable.
