Additionally the hotel boasts a large, the price was reasonable and the lobby was historical looking.
Nice big parking lot and hotel is just across the street from the Durango/Silverton Railroad and dowtown Durango saving you lots of money on parking.
We had a great time and this hotel is definitely worth the money!
I believe this hotel is overpriced but if you are looking for the best in Durango, at the best location, this is it.
The location is superb and the hotel is conveniently located to historic downtown Durango.
Good location to walk to town for meals etc, this hotel is conveniently located near the city center and used the complimentary wireless internet access in our room.
There is a Holiday Inn down the street that is in just as good of a location as well as the Strater which is located on the main street in Durango.
I start with a heads-up: The free shuttle from the airport does not run non-stop!
There are several very nice older properties on Main Street, but that area has heavy foot traffic and can be noisy at night,.
As HiltonHonors members we were upgraded to a huge suite with a king sized bedroom, living/dining room with a sofabed and a big bathroom with a jacuzzi.

The hotel has two restaurants (one of which is only open at certain times and one of which is slightly expensive) -- we only ate one meal at the hotel, which was breakfast on check-out day.

With so many wonderful restaurants in Durango (try Sweeneys) , we tend to just eat our breakfasts at the hotel.
