Domus Porto Salvo Sorrento - 索伦托

The hotel is in a great location, in Sant'Agnello, out of the busyness of Sorrento.

Everything of interest in the area can be reached very conveniently by train, so the location is near-perfect for a stay at Sorrento and for visiting Pompeii, Naples etc.

The location is very quiet but a fair distance from the heart of Sorrento and you need to bus it in.

She also took me up to Sorrento station to make sure I was in time to catch the morning bus back to Naples airport (7 euros).

Taxis are a total rip off so don't use at all.

The room had two twin beds pushed together to make a double bed, a desk with television, a nightstand and wardrobe.

We booked a room with double bed and shared bathroom.

A tacky curtain divided this room from the "bed room".

The hotel was exactly as I expected, cool high-ceilinged rooms, tiled floors and white-washed walls; simple bordering on the spartan, but with TV (no satellite) and entirely adequate en suite.

The only thing was that there were only two bathrooms available for the people with no ensuite rooms booked, but the bathrooms were huge and they seemed to be always free when I wanted to use them.

The local area has a classy heighbourhood vibe we liked, though avoid the bar/restaurant on the headland - truly terrible service.

No restaurant facilities were offered, but there are 2 -3 pizzeria within easy reach and a bar offering a limited menu.

Breakfast: I could have tried to eat more, but the pastries, coffee, bread and cereal would just keep on coming.

It's about 20-25 minutes walk from sorento main piazza but sant angello itself has shops/restaurants etc and the bus stop is right by the hotel and takes 2mins into sorrento if you don't want to walk.

Better to hire a care if you want to get about to bars, restaurants and shops etc.

I would advise arranging a lift from St Agnello station as it's quite a walk with luggage.

We got a hire car as it was so hot, and the hotel had free and easy parking.
