Die Swaene Bruges - 布鲁日

The location couldnt be better, hotel Die Swaene is centrally located in the historical part of the town and the staff at Die Swaene could not have been more friendly.

The location is just a very short walk from the Burg (along the fantastically named Blind Donkey Alley) but is very peaceful, best of both worlds, close to the action but not disturbed by it.

As stated in a previous review, the location is fantastic, in the center of the city close to the major sights and right on a canal.

The location is great and the hotel manages to combine old-fashioned elegance.

Me gustó muchísimo la ubicación del hotel, a un paso del "Vismarkt" (el mercado de pescado) y a dos minutos del "Grote Markt" ( a unos 6-7 minutos de la calle de la estación en taxi).

The only real issue we had was that the double bed was in fact two single beds pushed together, another minor quibble is that often the cold water wasn't, so remember to bring along a bottle of water if you stay.

In a world where some truly fabulous boutique hotels are available, a hotel that boasts an uncomfortable bed, miniscule (very old) TV, bathroom with barely enough toiletries for one person, dated furnishings etc etc is just not acceptable for?

Only minor grumble was the seperate toilet was a little small and right in the eaves so had a sloping ceiling, but the bathroom had a corner bath.

The room was nothing very special and the bed was uncomfortable.

Our room was meticulously clean and well decorated with antique furniture, fantastic fabrics, fireplace and very comfy beds.

Also, I found the restaurant rather pricey especially the breakfast.

We ate once in the restaurant in the new Pergola building where we felt that the food was only average, although the service was first class.

We had a lovely breakfast in the solarium part of the dining room and you felt you were outside.

The service was especially great and the 6-course meal we had in the main hotel restaurant rates as one of the best we've ever had.

We ate there with some friends who had dined in the previous restaurant when it was in the main building and they felt the Pergola restaurant was disappointing in comparison.

All staff that we encountered, from front desk to waitresses & maids, were friendly, approachable and efficient.

The staff at Die Swaene could not have been more friendly, and the service was excellent at all times, they also upgraded us to rooms with a view.

The staff is less than friendly and every small service is charged for.

Whilst this is nice as we had a terrace it also meant we right next to the door to the pool which is on a spring.

When we arrived, the lobby looked elegant and completely met our expectations.

The quiet canal-side situation, very warm welcome and the lobby looked elegant.

Based on what we experienced at this hotel, it's very clear that the rooms have not been renovated in well over 10 years.
