This hotel participates (sometimes) in price line.
Given the choice between this hotel and the Savery, I'd pick the latter if the price were the same.
If you are a AAA member and only pay $89 for this hotel then you will be impressed.
If you are not a AAA member and pay $129 for this hotel you.
Stayed here for a business trip as location is incredibly convenient.
The location was great for us as we we in town to enjoy the George Strait concert, our hotel room was very nice and the staff were very helpful.
Nice downtown location and one of the hotels better assets.
On the other hand, there is a free shuttle to and from the airport for those who need it, although you are expected to tip the driver.
The Des Moines Airport Motel 6 is one of the best and the hotel could use a good sprucing up.
While the bathroom and bed have receieved updating, the room itself is outdated.
The bathroom is a bit snug (about 8 by 5 feet), but functional with a tub and shower combo, a marble countertop, and upgraded towels and bath amenities.
The revive sheets on the bed were excellent after 10 hours in a conference and, to me, the best benefit that a Marriott room has to offer.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
During check in, we requested that we receive a room with a King sized bed.
We had a tasty breakfast in the restaurant (ordered off the menu), although the prices were a tad high.
Breakfast is standard, a convenience for guests, I would not recommend as a destination restaurant.
Rock River Restaurant -- very nice bar/restaurant located within the hotel.
The on-site resturant / bar was a nice quiet place to enjoy a drink and meal.
I enjoyed breakfast on two occassions and the service was prompt and food very fresh.
The same was true of the parking/shuttle staff, restaurant waitstaff, and other front desk people.
The front desk staff is bright, professional and courteous.
The front desk staff was very friendly as well.
The value for the rate we paid was exceptional and front desk personnel were very friendly.
There is a small pool and gym with half a dozen treadmills and half a dozen weight machines.
Parking was $14 per day but there is a parking garage right across the street that I am sure is less.
Parking in the city garage across the street is free on week-ends and hotel is clean.
Thankfully the entire hotel is smoke free, the rooms are very clean.
The folks at the front desk were amazingly nice, the room was squeaky clean.
The rooms as well and the sheets were clean.
The room was clean and he recommended an Indian restaurant to us was superb.
The hotel is beautiful and our hotel room was very nice, clean, and comfortable.
