My only negative would be the families at the pool - people paying good money to stay in a swanky hotel do not want to be splashed and kicked by children in the pool.

Hence it was also a bit easier to swallow the price of this hotel (in addition to the other outrageous costs in South Beach.

The only thing to keep in mind when visiting the Delano (or most luxury hotels) is don't even think about the money you are spending.

I didn't care, but if you do, spend the extra money for the other side of the hotel.

This is a very trendy and fun hotel where there is action every night specialy on tuesdays and it is in a Great location, close to the top restaurants and shopping in Sobe!

Beach are all excellent, shower is poorly designed so water goes everywhere in the tiny area and the best aspect of the hotel is the location.

Beach easily accessible, great location and the public areas in the hotel are gorgeous.

The atmosphere is very chic the moment you step foot onto it's doorstep.

They helped us haul our 2 massive suitcases out of the taxi as soon as we pulled up.

The room itself is very nice - comfortable bed, great bedding, stylish all white decor, good shower, very big closet, nice flat screen tv, etc.

The problems were very poor lighting in the bathroom, cracked floor mirror, faded lamp shade, non-working bed lamp and a puny and antiquated TV/VCR combo and low-end AM/FM stereo.

Dirty amenities (guest room floor was visably dirty, bathroom as well, pool area, beach chairs and towels were threadbare at best).

The staff are amazing, the room itself is very nice - comfortable bed and the food is very good.

As a renovated art-deco hotel, there are trade-offs - the bathrooms are small and compact (no bath) and only a few rooms have balconies (ours didn't) - but they are really the only two downfalls I could pick.

Also, must see is Spanish section down the street from Jerry's Deli (near Clay Hotel)--- Italian, French, Mexican restaurants as well as restaurant that specializes in Mojitos and gorgeous architecture.

EVOLUTION - We went to the Ritz one night which was DEAD and on our way back we came upon these beautiful glass doors which led into a VERY cool bar/restaurant that just opened.

If you go, spend a minute and check out the AMAZING glasswork throughout the bar and restaurant.

All the great furniture and mexican restaurants as well as restaurant that specializes in Mojitos.

Breakfast at the Delano: Prices are comparable to those you'd pay for breakfast at any nearby restaurant (though Burger King is down the block).

The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive - particularly the pool concierge who was able to make reservations for all our preferred places.

That includes the bar/restaurant service, front desk, porters, maids, poolside help, and even the people in the basement gym.

The front desk staff seemed to be helpful and the rooms would be super too.

The staff is friendly, the concierge couldn’t be more helpful and the locker room is well supplied.

OK, the lobby looks great, the food is amazing (but totally overpriced) the pool is great (if you can get a space) and the beach and the gym are unbeatable… but the noise!

The rooms are crisp and elegant, the lobby is minimalist and sophisticated, and the pool and garden areas are a perfect upscale Miami Beach retreat.

Also, spa (Aqua) at Delano is first-class as is David Barton gym.

The people who clean the rooms deserve a special mention - can't be easy keeping rooms that white looking so pristine.

The rooms are clean, but some details would require better maintenance.

Our room was spotless and included all the mod-cons.

The rooms are clean, the restaurants are great and the $15 margaritas at the pool are delicious.

The staff were exceptional and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

    Great pool area and embraces the wonderful art deco feeling of South Beach. Certainly a cool hotel, the building is elegant and the lobby is comfortable during the day. The staff is friendly, the concierge couldn’t be more helpful and the locker room is well supplied.

    The pool area is nice, beach service are great and specially the hotels that used to be the best of the best. The home fries are delicious and the lobby is HUGE. Very friendly front desk, the concierge desk also has various hook ups and quiet room - better try the Ritz next door. The food is wonderful and the Spa on the penthouse is beautiful.

    Ocean are beautiful, the outside area was really amazing - I don't think that is considered Nobu and the beach in front of the hotel is very nice. The sweeping lobby is just gorgeous and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the restaurants are great and the $15 margaritas at the pool are delicious.

    The service at the beach is excellent, the pool area is relaxing and luxurious, the staffs at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The design of the rooms is great and the drinks are awesome. This spa is unusual - 's bright.

    14 april 07, the hotel is lovely and clean,with very helpful and friendly staff , comfy beds with clean sheets and pillows and a clean bathroom with clean towels and shower gel and shampoo provided, breakfast was lovely boiled eggs rolls toast coffee and tea with cream cereal juices fruitbread cheeses hams etc on a buffett so u can get as much as you want , were able to leave our luggage untill we had to leave for the train station which saved us carrying it around all morning, the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the station,the only negative is that we paid? 75 per cup i think the tea and coffee should be included in ther room price but apart from that the hotel is perfect i would stay here again.
