The hotel is in a perfect location right in the middle of the city, blocks from the history and science museums, and a few block's walk the other way to bars and restaurants on Glenwood Ave.
The king bed rooms have a desk and office chair that is a little too close to the bed but not a problem unless you are obese.
The hotel room was good sized with one queen bed, a refrigerator and a microwave.
The bed spread has a ciggaret burn hole in it (this is a non smoking room).
In my bathroom I could hear the shower running in the next room but I never heard any other sounds from there.
The property is well maintained, the room was decorated nicely and was clean.
You can walk to a great seafood restaurant, The 42 Street Oyster Bar, and have great dinner and drinks and not worry about driving afterwards.

I wanted to be convenient to the office, but did not want to spend an arm and a leg on the typical business oriented downtown hotel where breakfast and wifi are extra.
The continental breakfast offered three types of cereal as well as fresh fruit, and the usual pastries.
If you are looking for luxury then this is not the place for you, but if you are seeking a clean, comfortable place to stay in downtown Raleigh with free breakfast and wi-fi, this is the place.
Staff worked hard but only one person on desk slowed down service when it was busy.

Our non-smoking room was clean and smelled fresh, the staff let us check in early without problems, and the room had a microfridge which was great.
