Days Inn Pittsburgh - 匹兹堡

Being our first time in Pittsburgh, we lucked out with the location of the hotel.

Good location to downtown and hotel were strong on giving maps.

You would pay $4 for a round trip on the subway anyway.

3) Cab fare was only $8-10 to the strip district where all the bars and clubs are.

My grandsons, 7 and 9, had brought their sleeping bags, but upon viewing the condition of the room, I made them sleep in the bed with us, I was afraid to have them sleep on the floor with the moldy smell in the room.

When we went to bed, there was an outside floodlight that shown right onto the bed pillow area, so we had to pull the curtain to cover the air conditioner, which of course interferred with proper airflow.

Paid a AAA Rate of $173 for one non-smoking room with 2 double beds.

Now I'm not saying that this is a bad place, but avoid the "Hotel California/Garden Apartment" rooms in the basement.

Breakfast is taken in the foyer but is good - branflakes/cheerios + OJ + unlimited coffee + choice of muffins.

The breakfast area is small, and a typical continental fare.

The breakfast that they advertise is nothing more than store bought muffins and coffee.

5) There is a continental breakfast, but if you don't get there by 9:30, all you'll get is coffee.

The continental breakfast included, waffles with butter and syrup, milk, orange and apple juice, bananas, cereal, muffins, toast and jelly, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Very good albeit in less than auspicious surroundings, hotel staff was pleasant and everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful.

Signage indicated an indoor pool, however it was not open because they said they are remodeling and they cannot see the pool from the front lobby.

It was an outdoor pool, covered with a new structure that worked quite well.

We threw on our trucks, and swam in the pool every day, with it all to ourselves.
