The location is perfect for a walk into town to explore the historic centre.
It's in a great location within the city walls with walking distance to all the sights and what a lovely city it is too.
The location is excellent and the whole place is charming.
Praça do Giraldo, the main town square, and then a few minutes more to the cathedral and the Temple of Diana; a cab ride in this area, or to the bus station for the express coach to Lisbon, is usually 5 Euros.
The free, underground parking is easy to find.
This Hotel is certainly older, and shows its age at times (like the bathroom plumbing fixtures), but we had a very spacious room with a king size bed and were completely comfortable.
Overlooking the pool beneath the city walls - an oasis on was a very hot day, strongly recommended - one of the best places we've stayed at in years and we joked that the bathroom was large enough for a queen size bed.

The reception was great and they had an extra bed in the room even though we hadn't asked for it yet.

Friendly staff, very nice swimming pool, cheap parking.
Rooms at the back look over the terrace and swimming pool, and also the lovely garden with its vast lawn.
It is not a small pool, like I would expect from an hotel inside such an old city, it is a very beautifull pool, surrounded by a well taken of garden, where you can really enjoy a good bath and an afternoon of sun bathing.

The rooms themselves have nothing particular about: simple 4 star hotel rooms, modern and clean, but not luxurious.
Beautiful surroundings, great beds, lovely food, clean blue pool and juice green lawns.
