Crowne Plaza Houston West - Energy Corridor - 休斯敦

First off there was construction all around the location which made access difficult.

No-one would seriously consider this hotel for a long stay but its perfectly OK for an airport stopover.

In fact its probably visible from the entrance of the airport and walkable - although I couldn't recommend that.

We have a soft, king sized bed which made for a really good rest after hours spent driving to Houston from New England and a nice quiet room.

The wood furniture and brass lamps and trashcan looked like 70's garage sale castoff items, all scratched and rusted, and the bed was hard.

Nice, clean rooms, and very comfortable beds!

Rooms are clean, comfortable and have great beds.

The property itself is fine, with nice rooms, cozy linens, and nice room amenities and adequate staff.

There's free wifi (which I'm posting from) and a restaurant and bar downstairs.

Hotel is used a lot by oil workers and hold numerous conferences which can mean some weekday nights are very busy at the bar and restaurant with service sufferring becasue of it.

About the restaurant located inside the hotel: breakfast buffet has limited choice and is expensive (buffet + orange juice + coffee + tax = 17$).

Food at the hotel is OK with the bar only serving its own snack menu.

The bar used to be too smoky for me, but Houston has gone smoke-free; with the renovation, it's now like a private club!

Not exactly the perkiest desk staff when we arrived late but they were quick to check us in.

A good place to stay for business travelers and adequate staff.

At the Holiday Inn Select West they hvae grea service and the people are the nicest people ou could meet in the hotel industry.

And finally, the staff is very very helpful and friendly.

The pool/jacuzzi/workout area is really beautiful too, rates are good at the Crowne Plaza and the staff is very very helpful and friendly.

Beware that the shuttle service is shared with ACE parking who occupy teh adjacent Lot.

Return to the airport was very quick and the on-request shuttle arrived a few minutes after we asked stopping in the adjacent ACE parking lot - a 50 meter walk from the hotel entrance.
