Crowne Plaza Hotel Guatemala - 危地马拉

Great location, the hotel offers a free shuttle service from and the suite is HUGE.

If location in Guatemala City is not an issue, I think I would recommend the Quinta Real Guatemala Hotel, which was where my wife and I attended a wedding reception.

We used the complimentary shuttle service several times including a couple of times to the airport and then a couple more times to and from a bus station in Zona 1 (shuttle waited for us at the bus depot!

Convenient to airport, but I haven't seen a hotel in Guat City that isn't.

Very comfortable bed and a cool sports bar.

I would also like to add that, even though it was a smoking room, they went to extensive steps to make sure that it didn't SMELL like a smoking room; most smoking rooms are bothersome enough that I cannot sleep.

The noise is noticeable when you're staying at a room facing south (airport) these are the odd numbered rooms.

I only had an adverse incident where they mixed up my reservation, but Alexa, the Manager on duty, resolved the problem and I got my room (switched rooms).

When the reservation was initially made, we requested a non-smoking king bed.

Otherwise the restaurant menu is ok, nothing fancy.

Downside to the Crowne is that there is not much to do in the neighborhood, the hotels in Zona Viva are in much nicer nieghborhood with good restaurants.

Huge breakfast buffet is included and is excellent, we ran into American expats on the weekends who walk there to go out for breakfast.

There is also a market nearby (1-2 blocks) for picking up snacks, drinks, food and toiletries very inexpensively.

Although the buffet was good, the food had a look of agedness to it.

The front desk staff was very cold, rude and unhelpful.

They left me waiting at the front desk for almost 20 minutes while two of the staff were on the phone laughing and joking.

Now I will change to this Crowne Plaza The staff member are excelent always trying to help.

A cool sports bar, a swimming pool, spa, a travel agency, and that's about all I saw.

The hotel was completely full, but you could only notice that because the three elevators seem to take a little longer to get to the lobby.

Employees in general were polite and attentive, the pool was fine for the kids.

Room was clean attractive and everything worked.

From a bus station in Zona 1 Reception was very helpful and room was clean attractive.
