As stated in previous reviews, the hotel is being refurbished, hence the excellent value for money room rate at present.
Overall this is a great hotel but for the prices you pay in need of some modern deco.
This is the nicest hotel that we have stayed in and I hope the price doesnt go up too much when the hotel is completely finished!
The location is great, friendly hotel well set up for the business traveller and at this price you should expect much better.
Nearby is a lovely area by the canal, the hotel is in a good location in the centre of town and the rooms are averagely comfortable.
As is a quiet location next to the lake, all the public spaces in the hotel are impressive and the staff are excellent.
Fab central location – right next to Broad Street so perfect for going out in the evening and a short walk to the Bullring.
The hotel is ideally situated near the Mailbox and the train station, just 15 minutes from the airport.
I paid £151 (that's nearly $300) for a single night, including parking my car in the dingy and poorly signposted underground car park.
3 of the rooms were together – the other 3 were spread over 2 other floors and one room only had a double bed despite the request for 2 double beds!
I found my room to be exceptionally large, with two queen size beds, a seating area and a large bathroom.
The rooms are massive with two double beds in each room.
After much negotiation with reception they put what I can only describe as a camp bed in the room.
The rooms had disgustingly dirty pillows and linen on the bed, and were old fashioned, musty, stale and of general poor condition.
Our room was on the 9th floor in a room that has been updated to a high standard, we ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and then again for breakfast and have no complaints at all about the service or the food.
The really nice surprise was breakfast in the restaurant.
In the bar is useful and restaurant is nice.
The restaurant/breakfast airy was bright and spacious - chalk and cheese compared with the dirty, dark room I'd been stashed in for the night.
Breakfast in their Conservatory Restaurant was good even for a Vegetarian like me, with exotic fruits, Yoghurt, Fresh Fruit Juices, Varieties of Bread, Croissants, Danish Pastries, Preservatives and choice of Coffee and tea.
The staff were welcoming, helpful Concierge helped me and room was well laid out.
Fantastic views, excellent hotel and the reception staff were very helpful.

Pool and gym facility was a very nice ammenity, excellent trainer staff as well.
The only draw back we found was the extotionate price we had to pay for car parking.
Even though the pool and gym were shut for a re-furb, the rooms had a lovely makeover done with extremely good taste!
The bathroom was smallish but very clean.
Anyway the hotel itself it fairly good - rooms clean and spacious, although the whole place has a slightly 'worn' feel to it.

The rooms have recently been refurbished and everything was spotlessly clean in the rooms.
The rooms are in need of a make over but generally are a good size, clean and have the expected amenities.
