The location is lovely, the Roman Army Museum is fantastic and the hotel is situated in a quiet village not far from Carlisle.
The location to Carlisle was very convenient as we were en route to Scotland, the general feeling of the hotel made an enjoyable stay and the staff were extremley helpfull.
Beautiful location and nice riverside village.
The rooms have flat screen TV, comfortable bed, hair dryer, tea and coffee.
The bathroom had a huge spa bath and the breakfast menu was fine.
When we asked why the staff hadn't used some common sense and scheduled the wedding party into the rooms above the function room and our tour group elsewhere in the hotel, we received an angry response that indicated the wedding party was the more important group.
The staff excellent, comfortable bed and nice cosy pillows.
Hotel was clean and tidy, all ohter staff were friendly and welcoming, the bed was one of the most uncomfortable ever experienced.
We never had a restaurant meal but chose to eat in the bar, which was quite good if not a little expensive.
The breakfast had a wide variety to choose from continental and cooked, and the food in Walton's Bar was great.
The location is perfect, the breakfast is in the conservatory restaurant is a lovely setting and staff are certainly very friendly and helpful.

We phoned the reception desk to complain and request another room or that the front desk staff intercede and request the band reduce the sound to a more reasonable level of loudness.
