As for location, this place is located in the ghetto.

The location is close to the railway station and less than 10 minutes walk to the Dom and the pedestrian shopping area.

I booked this hotel through Booked.net (no problems) and chose it because of its central location and, having looked at its website, thought it seemed a bit out of the ordinary.

If you arrive by train leave the station by the front door turn left and walk along the construction work (new underground extension)to the rail track underpass the hotel is just the other side on the right, a five minute walk at the most.

For future reference, I got my ibuprofen from the Apotheke located across the road from Ebertplatz subway station.

The bathrooms were a good size and fitted out nicely to match the interior of the rooms, considering the room was a bit on the small size.

We moved rooms after our first night, and while the non smoking room did not have the smell of stale smoke, the bathroom was tiny and being at the front if the hotel, the road noise was quite loud, even in the early hours.

Yes the room is small but the bed is big enough.

The rooms are basic and minimalist - don`t think I would have wanted longer than a weekend in ours, but it was clean and the bed was comfy.

Breakfast is all you would want at this price good food on a small buffet bar that is constantly being re-stocked, all the usuall continental breakfast fare nice touch was a large coffee pot on each table.

The bar area is very small (only 4 tables) but you can expand into the breakfast and reception areas, all very pleasant.

Great central location - only about a 5 minute walk to the Dom Cathedral and the Fruh brewery/restaurant/bar is the place for the best Kolsch in town.

There was no one checking who was having breakfast either, you could easily walk in off the street and have a free meal.

Hotel staff was very friendly and hot beverages were offered self service buffet style.

The location of the hotel makes accessible to every area in the city, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, our room was well appointed.

The lift was very very small i recall only 2 people fitting max with small to medium sized luggage.

Parking is for german patrons only, all others must pay extra per night to park in a garage about 4 blocks away.
