  The room was smaller than other Courtyard hotels I've been to, but it was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable, crisp, clean sheets and 6 pillows. I was on the 2nd floor and I never did find the elevator and ended walking up the stairs. They don’t provide wireless Internet in the room, but they have a RJ-5 cable that you can plug into your laptop and get connected for free. The breakfast buffet was nice, but it wasn’t included in the cost of the room, it was $9. When you are paying $100+ per night for a room, the breakfast should be included in my opinion.

  I loved that we didn't have to get in the car to drive to get a hardy breakfast. The staff was SO NICE, very accomodating. They even gave us laundry soap for the dirty clothes we had to wash. The garden area was great for the kids to get some sunshine and to run off some steam. Their favorite part was the breakfast waffles. When we asked them one night what they wanted for dinner, they replied, "Can we eat breakfast stuff at the hotel? The beds were comfy, showers nice and plenty of room to move with kids.

  The free internet access kept the kids busy when we were getting ready, we were able to check our email and stay intouch with the world back home.

  Room layout sucked and I had to position my head at a 90 degree angle to see the TV. The walls are paper thin and we switched room at 4:00 in the morning because the people next to us were so loud.

  He was friendly but smelled like alcohol.

  I arrived in my room, I found the window wouldn't open because of a broken handle bar.

  On the bright side, the staff was nice, they drove me to the computer store to get my laptop fixed. The Van Galder bus to/from O'hare stops next door at the Holiday Inn and there is a public bus that leaves across the street. The GM did acknowledge that the housekeeper needs a little retraining, and she agreed that the elevator is a pain. Room not very clean, tub dripped all night, elevator far away.

  If you are in say, a room in the X80 range, you have a LOOOONNNNGGGG walk! Second, tried to use the coffee pot to make hot water. Upon return to the room, I kicked something under the bedskirt. Just ask for a room nearby f you need it.

  Stayed at Rockford Courtyard one night while attending a wedding/reception. Staff was very friendly and helpful, in-room amenities all worked (tv, free high-speed internet, etc) and there was a pretty decent restaurant next door (Thunder Bay Lodge). Pool and whirlpool seemed very clean (we had them to ourselves one morning). Beds not the most comfortable I've every slept on (Hilton's fit my back better for some reason), but I did get a good night's sleep. Carpet in room was very clean and more plush than i expected. Good location, above average quality and friendly staff made for an enjoyable stay.

• The staff is always helpful. The breakfast was very good, the beds were great.

• Like all other Courtyard Marriott hotels, the one in Rockford lives up to the Marriott standard of providing clean, pleasantly decorated rooms, new beds (or at least new linens), and a nice lobby area for breakfast / TV watching. Breakfast is not included, but the hotel seems to have been recently renovated.
