Costa Adeje Gran Hotel

The location of the Hotel is also a major attraction, it is situated at the quieter end of the resort ( no lager louts ).

We paid £3600 for 2 adults/14days/HB in a hotel nearby a few years ago (admittedly, with a better location) but there is no discernable difference in quality and that's something you should always keep in mind.

I'm really surprised by people that profess it not to be a 5 star - if you look at hotels in and around the location of the Gran, that profess to be 4 star, then this one should have 6 stars - it really is a lovely holiday hotel.

Also not far from airport and would recommend you grab a taxi outside as its only about 15 euro.

We had a prebooked taxi to and from airport and hired car for five days.

Good sized rooms - big double bed, big bathroom, large bath, two sinks, shower, magnifing mirror for the ladies, hair dryer, toileteries, bathrobes, slippers.

There was an entrance lobby with hall table and large mirror and the bedroom had a big double wardrobe, large dressing table, coffee table, sofa bed, armchair and two large single beds going together to make a huge double bed.

The room was excellent – huge bed, two sinks in the bathroom and good maid service.

We were told that the rooms were of a good size but we could only just move around the bedroom dodging the camp bed our 14 year old son had to sleep in.

Rooms 2 to 3 stars, fair in size, but decoration completeley outdated; bathroom partly broken, unable to get a constant flow of warm water out of the shower, harsh towels; beds are far too soft, while the pillows are hard as stone.

The hotel operates a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant so if you want the fresher, hotter food, of course it will be better to arrive a little earlier as they say, the early bird gets the worm.

This is fine for breakfast but for evening meals it's much nicer to sample one of the local restaurants.

We were on a bed and breakfast basis so can't really comment on the food other than breakfast but because of so many restaurants in the area at either Del Duque and Fanabe that we never considered the Half board option.

Breakfast offers everything you could need and the 2 meals in the a la carte restaurant were enjoyable.

The food at breakfast and service was really 3star at best you can pay more for normal food at another restaurant on hotel but why should we its penny pinching on hotels side as we booked a 5star.

The reception and concierge staff were polite smart and well spoken in english too which often is quite rare in canary islands.

Restaurant service first class, rooms very clean and tidy, reception staff exceedingly friendly and helpful.

No service at the pool areas and a number of rude staff throughout all areas in the hotel except the reception.

Poolside had no waiter service and all the staff (with the exception of Moises and Marcos) seemed to be in a bad mood all the time, NOT THE 5 STAR SERVICE WE EXPECTED.

So if your looking for a well to do holiday this place isnt for you but if your looking for a really good holiday with lots of extras ie spa, squash courts, gym.

The pool areas are kept clean and tidy each day, you will have no problem in finding a place to lounge by the pool as there are so many sun beds.

The pools were clean and the area kept tidy as were our rooms.

The hotel appeared very clean and after being given our room we were most impressed.

5* but with three children there was something for everyone, stayed in a suite which was superb, very clean and spacious, housekeeping excellent.
