The camp bed in the room for my 3 children was missing a slat which made it uncomfortable and so an extra room was provided free of charge for 2 nights.

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had all the needed items.

Room and bathroom were clean, pleasant and modern.

The rooms were small but tastefully decorated and the location was great.

The room was so dark that we slept in and missed breakfast.

There are other good restaurants but we were so happy with Al Baratollo that we had all our meals there.

The next day I had a more than ample breakfast and ordered coffee in the lobby area while I conducted a couple of meetings, all of the staff were friendly and efficient.

Restaurant was being refurbished at the time of our stay.

A simple continental breakfast with small buffet choice of cheese, sausage, cereals etc.

D’accordo era domenica sera e sembrava che fossi l’unica persona a stare lì, ma per qualcuno che, come me, non parla italiano sono riuscito a parlare in inglese con tutti dagli addetti alla reception, a quelli del bar e del servizio in camera.

The staff recommended one of the best resturants I have ever eaten at, but the morning reception lady was pretty unfriendly.

Granted it was a Sunday night and it felt like I was the only person staying over, but for someone who doesn't speak Italian I was able to converse in English with everyone from Reception to the bar to room service.

I can only contrast 69 Manin Street, Rome or Hotel Continentale, Garda as just two other Italian establishments I have stayed in that offer very professional service and the above lack of customer care just would not occur in.

Solution: the VIP car service that picks up your car, makes it disappear, and returns it, about half an hour later than you really need it.

We did not have a car so cannot comment on parking in the area!

Piran needs a bit of a face lift, but you may prefer it as it is before it succumbs to the package tour industry.

Not recommended if you are driving as they do not have parking and it's a nightmare trying to find parking in Trieste!

Room was big, clean, modern with a balcony and small view of the river.

Breakfast is adequate, barely, and the rooms are small but clean.
