Commonwealth Park Suites Hotel Richmond - 里士满

This hotel has a great location, if you are interested in being near the Capitol, and a couple of excellent restaurants.

The Commonwealth is in a nice location in Richmond if you need to spend some time at the state library.

One good thing to be said for the hotel is the location.

Your car is stored at some underground parking lot a block away.

Get on the bus and hop over to the west side - around and past Virginia Commonwealth University is a fabulous area full of artists, students and musicians.

The suite was very roomy, with all amenities, including a bidet in the bathroom and a 4-poster bed - with a post that was obviously broken loose for some time and ready to fall off.

The new room had an immense bedroom and living room, spacious and well-appointed bathroom, and superb view of the State Capitol across the street.

As an overnight traveler, I found my room to be absolutely SPOTLESS and in excellent repair, and the bed was very comfortable.

As I sit on my (rather comfy) bed sans fitted sheet, I realize that the Commonwealth Park Suites Hotel is a place that must be appreciated for it's legacy and not it's slowly deteriorating condition.

However, it would have been nice if the carpets had been vaccumed and the bed linens changed even once in the ten days; soaps, shampoos, and even toilet paper were not replaced and had to be requested from the front desk.

The breakfast bar was a little crowded the first morning, but when everything was placed on larger tables the next morning, it was fine.

The restaurant at breakfast time was run by one person who was cooking and waiting tables.

The staff was pleasant, however, and I had a good breakfast with excellent coffee and excellent service at the hotel's restaurant.

I had to order dinner from a Thai restaurant because I didn't want to eat in the nearly-empty hotel restaurant and I couldn't find any place to go on a Friday night.

The hotel is across the street from the state capitol, a three block walk to the library and an abundance of excellant restaurants within walking distance.

The staff was not very helpful, and in fact lost the reservation for my brother who had been directed to the very same hotel by American Express's concierge service.

Helpful throughout our stay, friendly staff and very attentive receptionist on arrival.

We got to the lobby around 6:30 and the front desk employee gave us directions on how to get the car.

The hallways (including the elevators) smell like 1000 frat parties mixed with furniture polish.

There is no lobby shop and no store nearby to purchase bottled water , sodas or any of the aminities the hotel does not provide, so welcome to desert island.

75 per day and there is no on-street parking available unless it is the weekend.

Free wireless access certainly atones for some sins here.

The light in the bathroom wasn't working well at all, clean sheets.

The staff at the desk was pleasant and my room was seemingly clean.

The rooms were huge and always clean and comfortable.

Very spacious and clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast included.
