  The hotel was in a great location to go to all three and the view was FANTASTIC. Angelic at the front desk was a wonderful employee who greeted us, and was there the next morning when we checked out. She was very helpful confirming our room did have a view of the gulf and discount coupons for attractions in the area. Only one elevator so take your patience when you check out because you may need to wait for the elevator at peak times.

  Just driving up was an experience - the bright colors of the outside, the dunes, the water, the waves. The staff were extremely pleasant throughout the six days we were there. The front desk staff got us checked in (we had reservations) and in no time we were in our room. The housekeeping staff were very nice and friendly, and did a great job getting the room ready. Great view, good size room with large windows on the side even (facing east). While the ocean view rooms cost a little more, we found it absolutely worth the extra money. The pools were clean, and the warm pool was just right after coming back from the beach.

  Water temperature was still 80 to 81 degrees, and the sun was still hot.

  Quiet area with only a walk across the road to the nearest beach. Usually a suite is more than a room with a half wall divider. If I had known exaxcty how small the suite was I would have upgraded to something larger.

  We wanted to stay on the beach with our 3 young children and found this hotel to have the best reviews in our price range. The hotel is across the street from the beach so it's a short walk and cut through the Holiday Inn parking lot or you can drive across the street and down a little and park in a free lot. Not much work space for making lunches, etc which is why we wanted a room with a refrigerator and microwave in the first place.

  The room was a little small so I was disappointed. The elevator was slow and always very busy.

  We've stayed at several Comfort Inns, some bad and some good, but this is the first time we've stayed at a Comfort Suites. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom spotless, the TV large and clear, nice fridge, very comfortable pillow-top bed, and good window covering. Great location, away from the crowds, traffic, and noise, and close to North Padre Island!

  We liked the short walk to the beach (cross the street and cut across Holiday Inn parking lot), and the breakfast was pretty good considering most places offer only continental breakfast. I ended up borrowing an ethernet cable from the front desk. The room itself was very clean, but a tad bit on the small side. I'm tempted to try Holiday Inn next time just because it's right on the beach and maybe a better view of the gulf, but Comfort Suites is definitely a good choice.

  Wifi connection didn't work well for me, way too slow.

  The pool tiles had not been cleaned in some time as they had scratch marks in the dirt or scum. All of this is unfortunate as the beds were nice and the bathrooms nicely laid out. They stated they clean the spa every day and the sand causes the issue with the spa.

  The room we booked on the Comfort Suites website was not what we received upon check-in. We requested a king-suite with balcony and got a regular king-suite (it had a balcony if you wanted to crawl out the window! The hotel did move us to another room upon our request, however the new room did not have any chairs on the balcony. The next day we came back from the beach and wanted to use the pool and spa.

  They would not cancel our reservation and charged us one night's stay even though it was a safety issue and I called as soon as I heard (2 days before arrival).
