This hotel is definitely nicer than the ones you can get out at the coast for the same price.
This is your generic moderate price hotel, wedged between two other chain hotels, with minimal landscaping.

The hotel is in your standard car-friendly freeway offramp location, near a couple other hotels, an In-N-Out for burgers and a Margie's Diner for gigantic plates of food.
The hotel is far away from any 'centre' (transport terminal for me), so you need a car to get around - especially if you want to visit Monterey without the hassle of buses (though i did that and it was easy).
The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room was spotless.
Changing the beds from queen to king sized does not make it a suite.
The room was clean, with an odd faux balcony that was unreachable unless one was inclined to vault over the air conditioner.
