Very good value for money & excellent location- just off Karl Johan's Gate and a nice toucThe hotel building is great.
THis hotel worked out well with a reasonable price, by Scandinavian standards, and great location.
The price was excellent by Norwegian standards given the central location and the hotel was a good choice.
Looking for a very central hotel in Oslo that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, we chose the Clarion Collection Hotel Savoy, right off the main street (Karl Johans Gate) at Universitetsgate 15.
Great central location only a couple of minutes from the main street.
Breakfast was good, and breakfast room had great location with views to the street outside and the national gallery.

Very good location, next door to the National Gallery.
The location couldn't have been better--8 minutes to the main transport system, airport express train, central shopping, etc.
My room was also quite boringly decorated, not to say "cheap", but the bathroom was nice and spacy, with both a tub AND a separate shower cabinet.
It was very spacious, more than enough space for a couple with clean wooden floors, a desk, double bed, two lounge chairs, modern shower bathroom.
They made the bed in the morning but the room wasnt cleaned and hadnt been cleaned from the last time someone stayed in it either.
In each case there was a compromise - larger room or smaller bathroom.
We chose the larger room, which had a miniscule bathroom, very comfortable for a 3 day stay, overlooking the road where trams occasionally rumble by but not really a disturbance.
I found the staff to be helpful and polite although it is a little annoying that the restaurant and bar close on Sunday and Monday evening.
Ample breakfast, and a popular, bustling bar at street level.
Tee only downfall was the noise from the court-yard as they closed the bar and set-up for breakfast.
Breakfast was wonderful, served in the hotel's gourmet Eik Restaurant.
Also exceptional was the free buffet in the evening in the attractive loft - which meant that it wasn't always necessary to buy a (very expensive) restaurant meal.
Reception staff were pleasant and heated floor in the bathroom was also a nice touch.
The service at the reception desk was quite friendly and the beds were very comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and outside the window there was a light the whole night long.
Gro on the front desk is great and very helpful.
Very central for shops, our stay was fine and the staff was very helpful.
Location - absolutely perfect to explore Oslo its surroundings and value not too bad so long as you are careful.
Not much facilities (no gym/pool/spa/large meeting areas (aside from loft).
Conveniently located, with friendly staff and nice, clean rooms.
Clean rooms, the light evening meal was excellent lots of choice.
The hotel was quiet, the bathroom its self was clean and light evening meal were also good.
