But overall the hotel offers a fair value for that price category bearing in mind the neighbourhood of Wiesbaden/Frankfurt area.
Almost perfect location except nearby existing continuous traffic, the personnel is very attentive.
The location is exquisite, ambiente the charm of a historic place and pillows that didn't belong to either of us.
I wouldn't exactly call it city-centre location - it's a good 15 minute walk to the pedestrianised zone but a pleasant one through the park opposite.
The problems started with long black hair in our bed and pillows that didn't belong to either of us, and no shower/bath on our floor, or the floor below us or above us.
The bathroom was rather dated - just a narrow space with shower stall, wash hand basin and toilet - but perfectly adequate.
In the morning we both woke up covered in bite marks from bed bugs - a first for both of us after six months of travelling!
The three stars this hotel is given must be dealing with the amenities because the rooms were first class.
The interior of our 'superior' room looked like the time has stopped in the 1960'ies/70'ies.
The breakfast buffet provided everything that we could have wanted from a large selection of teas, a wonderful coffee, and still the intimate feel of a small restaurant that lacks at most hotel buffets.
There is a restaurant next door with (I think) Mexican cuisine - but don't let that put you off either - there are also other things to be had.

Das imperial imponierende Hotel liegt ideal am Kurpark Wiesbaden and the staff was very friendly.
Adore hotels having a historical background and the services are good.
The place is busy but the service good and the food delicious.
The first problem was parking, which has to be done in the (busy) street outside - but don't let that put you off.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean.
However, the room was clean and equipped to our suprise with WLAN, the mattress was firm and the sheets were soft.
