The location, in the middle of Chestnut Hill, was great.
The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, the continental breakfast was good and the location wonderful.
It has a great location, right in the center of town.
The train station is a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel, then the train ride is about 20 minutes but it was definitely the way to go.
Chestnut Hill is about 9 miles north of downtown Philly and is very accessible on the regional railways - each station only about 4 blocks from the hotel.

Just make sure to request a room that has a more quieter cooling/heating system and shake the bed to make sure the headboard does not bang on the wall, and if they run out of fresh, delicious baked goods, feel free to ask for more.
It did keep me awake a little, but I was too tired and already settled in bed to ask to switch rooms.
The bed was comfortable, and as I saw on other reviews complaining about loud air conditioning.
Historic Bed Breakfast located in the Germantown area of Philadelphia, the hotel restaurant/bar is a wonderful amenity.
The food at the attached restaurant, "The Chestnut Grille" was especially good.
Knowing it was in Philly I expected a city, but its in actually in a nice cobblestoned neighborhood like 5 miles from the turnpike with tons of shops, restaurants, etc within blocks.
Close to shops ,restaurants and next to a market.

The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very solicitous and even friendly.
This hotel has a high turnover of managers and accomodating staff.
Value items: Free parking, wireless internet and Continental BF.
There are businesses on the property, but when we checked in late in the evening, they were closed, and thus, we were not able to shop, but were able to find parking right behind the hotel (free for guests), which was very convenient.
The last time we were there the elevator was broken when we arrived, which was a big bummer since we were on the 4th floor and had a ton of luggage.
The desk personnel were very friendly, my room was nice and clean.
