Chasley Hotel Wakefield

Excellent location close to train station, hotel is in central wakefield.

The location was fabulous and hotel was clean.

We used to live in Wakefield and we chose the hotel for its central location as it is in the city centre and a five minute walk from the railway station.

I would stay at this hotel again for its convienence of location.

Nice residential area just over the road from the bus station and great value at £30 a night too.

Room amenities include: colour tv with no remote, the buttons on which do not work, en suite bathroom with damp/dry rot and a toilet that seems to fill itself with waste from everyone elses toilet every time it is flushed!

Our room was on the third floor and was quite large with ensuit bathroom with shower over bath.

New decor (depending on taste) is a bit tacky - 'glitzy' neon lights in the bar, laminate wooden floors in the bedrooms and a very strange mock chrome 'grab bar' along the bed head.

Soundproofing bad - heard next room banging their bed in the night, loud grunting and the person swearing loudly.

The room was great, although it was really hot with the seemingly impossible to turn off central heating.

The hotel has a restaurant, bar and function rooms.

Also i noticed hey have a new bar lounge area to relax in, which i must say is beautiful, it had a nice atmosphere on the first night, not to busy but just right and on the second a different sort of atmosphere which was nice.

The staff were good, the room was clean and bar food was normal fair at very reasonable prices.

The bar area appeared pleasant and central to the town.

The curtains were also cheap, breakfast was just lovely.

When we arrived in the afternoon the hotel was freezing, on asking the reception staff what was going on we were told 'the manager went on a power trip yesterday and made us turn the heating off!

Staff very friendly, the large window had a broken mechanism.

Great value for business, a really good bnb at a reasonable price and the staff were nice so at least thats a plus.

On the whole the staff were very nice and helpful but would benefit from some basic training and the hotel will be lovely when the refubishment is finished (and the heating is working!

I also get free access to the sounds of next doors lovemaking, a local rock band practice, and the soothing clunk and bang of the 1960's lift opening and closing its doors at all hours.

1960s lift with painted-over etched graffiti on the door has to be seen!

The room was in a reasonable condition, although the decor was a bit dated, it was clean and tidy apart from a stained shower curtain.

Staff - Very friendly, all the rooms were refurbished clean.

Staff and clean, the room was made perfect for us to get married there.

Fantastic staff and the room itself was clean.

The room was very clean and the owner was very welcoming.
