To me, the prices at this hotel are not worth the money at all.
This is fine-most upscale hotels do this but at least you can call a cab service if the price is not what you want.
Overall, would not rate this as a "you must stay there hotel", its fine but not what you would expect given the price of a room.
Despite having to pay an extra $75 each for our dogs, we still were impressed by the hotel and would return there at any opportunity.
The location of the hotel is perfect -- it's located at the center of town in the middle of everything you'd want to see while in Charleston.
Great location, close to everything in the historical district.
The hotel's location is perfect for walking in the downtown Charleston area - close to historic homes, the Battery, the Aquarium, famous sites, shopping, and many wonderful restaurants to suit everyone's taste.
Black Cab on our last trip to the airport and it was only twenty dollars per person.
We were able to get anywhere we wanted by foot.
The bedroom was a normal, Marriott-sized room with a king bed, the bathroom a little more spacious than most, and the tub very large.
Booked executive room with a view (which we paid extra for) & king size bed but was disappointed to be allocated room in courtyard with no view & 2 beds.
Our room, while not spectacular, was pleasant and clean with comfortable beds/bedding and Molton Brown products in the bathroom.
Rooms have hardwood floor entrances, large bathrooms and a nice sized room in general - easy to move around.
The room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows.
Room was quiet, conceirge bar tenders were very friendly and food in restaurants was good.
The rooms are large and the restaurant is awesome for morning breakfast.
Rooms were spacious, the bar was great and cuisine were superb.
Great, great restaurants, definitely a super orient-express breakfast buffet, wonderful shopping, perfect location (SPOLETO FESTIVAL, attractions, horse carriage private rides, sights etc.
The Charleston Grill restaurant, located in the hotel, was one of the best restaurants I have ever dined in.
We found the service at the hotel from the front desk, valet, concierge, club level and restaurants to be outstanding.
But much of the staff people have attitudes with no goal for customer service: some at room service people and some at the front desk people.
Before our arrival I had contacted the conceirge staff and requested dinner reservations, limosine service, and two dozen roses to be in our room when we arrived.
Definately check out the spa & indoor pool!
5) The pool, workout area, whirlpool, and spa are terrific not to mention quiet and restful.
We enjoyed the indoor pool & fitness area.
Fortunately, there was not an extra charge to use the wired internet.
The room was a decent size with ample storage space and clean-- not Ritz Carlton clean, but quite tidy.
The rooms are large, clean, and very comfortable.
The room was spacious, beautiful and clean.
The bathroom was large, very clean and proved us with all the toiletries needed.
For the price that you pay to stay in an Orient Express Hote, the locker room should have been clean.
