Charingworth Manor Hotel

Lovely location and wonderfull old country manor houses in a beautifull setting.

Excellent location, we all had a very enjoyable stay and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Peaceful location and the general ambiance of a really nice country hotel.

The hotel is a beautiful 14th century Manor House set in a gorgeous rural location.

295 b and b in a suite) and in a great location.

The room itself was of superior standard with a 6ft wide bed and a huge bathroom containing a large bath and separate shower cubicle.

Our room was a suite and was well worth it, with fluffy bathrobes huge bath and really spacious room which was almost like an apartment.

Room was up a small staircase in the eaves of the building, with a skylight window in the bathroom, and another in the bedroom.

The most surprising 'feature' in the room was by the bed.

The new room was still far from perfect with stained bed cover, dirty carpet (also dirty carpets in the hallways) and whilst I couldn't say it was all dirty, I couldn't with all honesty say it was spotless.

The restaurant tries to present itself as French haute cuisine but neither the service, ambience or food come close.

The breakfast was excellent,good quality, and plenty of it ,we declined the offer of dinner however, as the village offers a good choice of restaurants at half the cost.

Restaurant dinner service on first night and at breakfast time excellent.

The food in the restaurant was delicious, we ate in every night!

We expected the food to be of a very high quality, it being a Two Rosette restaurant.

I would characterise the service received from all staff members as excellent, ranging from senior managers to the various catering staff.

Greeted by lovely staff in old but nice reception area.

In our room, when we got to it, we found an un-ordered bottle of champagne; the member of staff clearly did not believe my story, and we were taken down like naughty children to reception to have my e-mails checked.

Restaurant decor dull, but service good and young staff very nice.

The hotel has a good spa, with a nice clean swimming pool, steam/sauna rooms and a gym, although there is an irritating requirement for a £1 coin to operate the lockers in the changing rooms, requiring me to make a return trip to the bedroom.

The extention has given the hotel the benefits of a delightfully warm swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym as well as additional rooms.

The spa was in need of care, ie neither the steam room or sauna worked but the pool was lovely.

The room was very nice, clean and well serviced throughout the day.

On the plus side the hotel is in a quiet and pleasant setting, the staff were friendly, the bedrooms and hotel clean, and the food pretty good.

The room was perfectly clean and quite welcoming with plates/pictures on the walls, dressing gowns and a small decanter of sherry, although curiously no tea/coffee making facilities - you have to pay extra for that.

Our room was a large one in the main house with a fantastic view, clean, warm and comfortable.
