Overall it is difficult to describe how good this hotel is and even though money was no object and we stayed in the best hotels we could find in our tour of Tuscany, this is the one that really stands out in our minds.
The bathroom was pristinely clean but the mattress could have been more comfortable for this hotel's price range.
The majority of the staff is very good - cheerful and really try to please customers but this hotel lacks the touches that you'd expect for one in this price range.
Overall, I think if you want high-end accomodation in Tuscany, and are willing to pay the rates, this is one of the top hotels.
We had a lovely weekend weekend and the location, venue, staff and atmosphere was amazing.

It is a beautiful, if isolated, location.
One day four Italian Airforce transport planes (propellors not jets) flew down the valley at such a low altitude they were BELOW where we were standing poolside!
We had a 2-level, "2 bedroom exclusive suite" (#8)with sitting room downstairs (tv, fireplace, desk, sofas, minibar) & 2 bedrooms up with 2 baths (1 w/tub 1 w/shower).
Our room was rather strange with all the views in the bathroom and small corridor area between bedroom and bathroom.
The bed was quite comfortable, the shower roomy (with a tub, no less!
The Rooms are all Suites and tastefully decorated with everything one would expect in 5 star accomodation.
They turn down your bed(s) at night, always available for questions and ready to accommodate you, whether it's renting a Vespa or wanting to experience winetasting at a neighboring winery.
The restaurant served delicious food for dinner, but breakfast was my favorite with lots of fresh fruit and the famous local Montelcino honeys.
The service was excellent and friendly, the bathroom was pristinely clean, the restaurant food was fantastic the first time we ate there.
The restaurant (in the same room where the breakfast is served) is not worth a visit, cold atmosphere, standard menu and a too expensive winelist.

As a retired Hotel Director and Customer Service Consultant I was particularly impressed with the hotel’s operation, their restaurant, and customer service provided by Jasmine (the receptionist), the wait staff in the restaurant, and Mr.
Aside from our front desk staff member arranging dinner reservations for us, he did not mention the other included items and our wine was never delivered to us.
Staff service excellent, our bedroom were also lovely and the food was neither good nor satisfying.
In response to an earlier post, never during my visit was there music playing that would disturb the serene peacefulness at the pool -they must have put a stop to that, thank goodness.
The water in the pool was a bit too cold.
The swimming pool sits atop the hill, overlooking the valley and it's so inviting.
Claimed to have wireless but was down during our entire stay.
The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were clean, large and had amazing views of the tuscan hillside.
